Prologue:

1K 19 3

The hatred Darth Malidictus felt here was pure. Pure enough that even his master seemed somewhat uneasy with it flowing around the air. "Master, what is our goal here?" Malidictus asked as Emperor Darth Vitiate stared him down with both pride and contempt. "Well my former apprentice, our goal is simple. Ensure the Jedi filth do not desecrate our sacred burial site. What you see before you is the remains of yours and my predecessors. Our empire is strong, but to ensure our memory lives on should we perish, we must leave a part of ourselves behind. The Jedi will never fully wipe us out, even if we are brought to the final Sith in the entire Galaxy, we. Will. Not. Be. Forgotten," Emperor Vitiate announced with pride and arrogance in his voice.

Malidictus folded his arms and stood next to his emperor and master, understanding the importance of keeping such a site safe from the Jedi scum that infested the galaxy. Whilst his master despised all Jedi, Malidictus only hated, the council. Kriffing fools, he thought. Their ridiculous rules are what caused them to become so...despised among the Sith. They had persecuted the Sith empire for religious differences, and for not following the same rules they did. "Lord Vitiate, why do we simply wait for the Jedi? The council are a bunch of old, decrepid fools who pose no threat to us personally," he said. Vitiate grinned evily, "The council rely on numbers. We rely on strength. Remember my former apprentice, that we seek out passion and victory, for there is no such thing as peace. The Jedi believe in peace, we believe in absolutes. Their time is done, our time is just beginning to take place," he decreed as they both stood above the vast cave system that housed the catacombs where thousands of respected Sith had been buried over the centuries. Some of which were even rumoured to be related to Emperor Vitiate himself. "I see no reason why we must simply WAIT. If the council attacks us, then we must fight," Maledictus said with an annoyed tone. Vitiate looked incredibly annoyed and used the force to smack his former apprentice. "Have I not taught you that patience is something we Sith have to be good at if we are to win? You act as if I have not taught you everything there is to know. Whilst I see your potential and talent, you lack what all Sith have, true anger. Your empathy will be your undoing," Vitiate said coldly. Maledictus scowled at his former master, he HATED how he was ridiculed for any small thing. His training under the emperor had been brutal to say the least, and painful in every aspect. Mental torture was something Vitiate was fond of to teach his apprentice "weakness" and how to avoid such an abhorrent thing.

Just as the young Sith was about to retort, an explosion happened at the cave entrance and many different lightsabres could be heard. "Jedi..." Hissed Vitiate who unfolded his arms and went to the edge of the cliff face they were stood on. "SITH LORDS. WE MUST FIGHT. SLAY THE JEDI AND MAKE THEIR BLOOD PAIN THE WALLS OF THESE CAVES!!! THROUGH PASSION I GAIN STRENGTH. THROUGH STRENGTH I GAIN POWER. THROUGH POWER I GAIN VICTORY. THROUGH VICTORY OUR CHAINS ARE BROKEN!!!!" He roared as he ignited his own lightsabre, with his former apprentice doing the same.

Jumping down and leading their legions of Sith into battle with the Jedi, they mowed them down, with both Vitiate and Maledictus killing hundreds, if not thousands, of Jedi knights in mere minutes, slicing their limbs and decapitating them. One Jedi got a lucky hit on Maledictus and managed to split him off from the rest of his Sith brethren. Dressed in his Sith armour, the young Sith lord stared down the Jedi, their corresponding lightsabres slicing through the air. One crimson red, one sky blue. "So. Your the emperor's pet. I have to say, I thought you'd be older," Mocked the knight, clearly a green one at that, newly knighted. Maledictus smirked, "A greenhorn? The council must be getting desperate if they're sending inexperienced Padawans like yourself if they're after me. Such an unwise decision," He mocked as the overconfident knight scrowled. "Why? Why join the Sith? All they see is hatred, and anger," he remarked as they both edged closer.

"The Jedi took everything from me! My home, my world! EVERYTHING! I was left to die!" Maledictus roared as the knight charged and quickly locked blades with the young Sith lord. "I have killed millions of Jedi knights, and hundreds of Masters. They all came to assassinate me because I was a loose end!" Maledictus raged as he expertly parried, and struck the knight multiple times, toying with his food and switching between forms 1 to 6 like it was a walk in the meadow.

"I won't let you continue this massacre!" The knight roared back, letting his emotions get the better of him, making him sloppy, reckless. Seeing an opportunity to end the fight, Maledictus smirked and evaded all attacks before spinning around a strike from the Jedi ajd stabbing him through the heart, ending his life and ceasing his breathing. "Good riddance," he growled as he looked over to see the Sith being pushed back and his master recklessly throwing his forces at the horde of Jedi. Whilst they were far more superior in power and could easily cut down hundreds of Jedi, they were being heavily overwhelmed. The Jedi were using their numbers against them. "MASTER!! WE HAVE TO FALL BACK!!" Maledictus roared as he beheaded another overconfident Jedi. Vitiate snarled at his former apprentice, "NEVER. WE WILL DIE IN BATTLE!!" he roared back, continuing his own massacre. The emperor had clearly gone mad, and was drunk on the power of the dark side. Looking around, Maledictus saw there was no reasoning with his former master, and ran deeper into the catacombs to attempt an ambush, however, Vitiate saw this and presumed his former apprentice was retreating from the fight. "Coward!" The emperor snarled as he slay yet more Jedi and chased after Maledictus.

Deep in the catacombs, Darth Maledictus was walking in between the many tombs. Having parked his ship inside the catacombs under the order of Vitiate, he intended to find an ambush spot and then use the ship to blast the Jedi to bits. Turning a corner, he was met with a heavy force push by his master, making him go to one knee, but didn't send him down. "You dare abandon the empire?!" Vitiate snarled, lightsabres drawn. Maledictus stood and glared at the emperor, "Never! You've maddened yourself with the influence of the dark side! We are overwhelmed and you would send our forces to a slaughter?!" He snarled back, drawing his own lightsabre in the process. Vitiate edged closer, "You dare attack your emperor?! I made you my heir! And this is how you repay me?!" He roared. Maledictus stood his ground, "I will do what is necessary for survival! You see only power! I see a slaughter that you are causing! Is this why you punished and beat me?! To make sure I followed you blindly?!" He shouted as both master and apprentice edged closer.

Vitiate snarled at his former apprentice, clearly readying to kill him. "I trained you for loyalty! Loyalty to ME!!" he shouted back. "You're loyalty means NOTHING!!! YOU TORTURED ME AND TRIED TO BREAK ME!! YOU ARE NO EMPEROR!!!" Maledictus roared back as Vitiate let out a war cry and unleashed Powerful force lightning bolts at Maledictus, who blocked with his lightsabre and countered with his own force lightning, blasting the emperor backwards and shocking him. "You have grown in power my apprentice. I would be proud if you weren't such a spineless traitor!!" The emperor growled as he force flipped behind Maledictus and brought down his lightsabres onto his former apprentice, with the latter blocking and engaging in a vicious duel, exchanging blows, and locking blades. Vitiate was slightly stunned that his apprentice was able to keep up with him, so, he decided to end this. Or so he thought.

Shoving Maledictus back with a force push, he put all of his power into a blast of force lightning, and sent it straight at Maledictus' heart, but the former apprentice, managed to stand up and fire back his own lightning, easily matching his former master. Both of them didn't back down, pouring massive amounts of energy into their attacks, never once faltering, never once giving in. Then, a mighty explosion occurred at the centre of the two bolts, sending both of them back and causing a cave-in, effectively sealing off the catacombs from the outside world, along with Maledictus' ship inside, and destroying a few tombs. Maledictus however, had been blasted back into a carbonate freezing pod, causing it to activate and freeze the young Sith Lord. The last thing, Maledictus heard, was his former master scream in agony, and with that, the young Sith Lord's mind was at peace, knowing he'd won the battle. Then, the carbonate froze him, preserving him, his two lightsabres, his armour, and his body in the most important and respected burial ground, being left to gather dust, and be, forgotten....

Prologue, DONE. I have to say, I enjoyed this a fair bit, and sorry to kind of show of Maledictus' power so early on, but I promise you, this is not the end of his abilities, more will be revealed in later chapters. So keep reading, and enjoy :)
