Coruscant:

After landing the wrecked ship, Hopper had left Anakin and Obi-Wan to join up with the rest of the Sith fleet in orbit, whilst Malidictus joined Obi-Wan to the Jedi council. The ship carrying the three stopped at the Senate and Anakin departed, whereas both Malidictus and Obi-Wan had remained on the ship. "Are you coming master?" Anakin asked. "Oh, no. I'm not brave enough for politics," Obi-Wan replied. "Indeed, politics are a rather filthy game," Malidictus chimed in as Obi-Wan smirked, but Anakin grumbled, clearly not liking him here. "Me and the Grand Emperor have to report to the council. Besides, someone needs to be the poster boy," Kenobi grinned.

"Hold on. This whole operation was your idea," Anakin countered as Malidictus stood quiet, watching the pair argue, and enjoying it. "Let us not forget, Anakin, that you rescued me from the buzz droids. And you killed Count Dooku, and you rescued the chancellor, carrying me unconscious on your back," he stated. "All because of your training," Anakin commented. "Anakin, let's be fair. Today you were the hero, and you deserve your glorious day with the politicians," he said. Anakin looked over, and then back at Obi-Wan, "Alright, but you owe me one, and not for saving your skin for the tenth time," he smirked. "Ninth time. That business on Cato Neimoidia doesn't count," Obi-Wan corrected him. "Come Obi-Wan, I should like to hear that story," the Sith emperor said as they flew off, Anakin scowling at the Grand emperor, hating the idea that his "kind" were allowed on Coruscant and at the Jedi temple.

As Anakin was walking with the Senators inside the Senate building, he soon felt a familiar presence behind one of the pillars. "The Republic can't praise you enough," Bail said. "Thank you senator Organa," Anakin smiled as both C3PO and R2 trailed behind them. Noticing the presence again, Anakin turned to the pillar and departed from the senators group. "Excuse me," he said as he rushed over to the figure, who was revealed to be Padme Amidala and embraced her.

"Oh Anakin," she said. "I've missed you, Padme," he said as they kept hugging. "There were whispers that you'd been killed," she sighed in concern. "I'm alright," he said with a smile. Anakin went in for another kiss, but Padme stepped back. "Wait. Not here," she said. "Yes, here," he answered back. "I'm-I'm tired of all this deception. I don't care if theu know we're married," he said. "Malidictus knows and that's enough for now," Padme said. Anakin's demeanour changed slightly, he'd always held some sort of contempt for the Sith emperor, and it was just getting worse as the days went by, but he didn't say anything for Padme's sake. "Also don't say things like that," she said as they embraced again. Anakin noticed something, she was shaking.

"Are you alright? You're trembling," he said his alarm grew. "What's going on?" He asked. "Something wonderful has happened," Padme sighed. "Ani...I'm pregnant," she revealed. Anakin's world just stopped, this was... amazing. "That's-well, that's won-wonderful," he stammered, unable to find the words. "What are we gonna do?" Padme asked. "We're not gonna worry about anything right now. This is a happy moment," he smiled. "The happiest moments of my life," he added as the pair continued to embrace and kiss.

That night, both Anakin and Padme were in their apartment as Anakin just admired Padme. "Ani I want to have our baby back home on Naboo. We can go to the lake country where no one will know, where we can be safe. I can go early and fix up the baby's room. I know the perfect spot, right by the gardens," Padme smiled as she brushed her hair.

Anakin was listening, but he was just too captivated by his wife. "You are so...beautiful," he said. "It's only because I'm so in love," Padme responded with a playful grin. "No. No it's because I'm so in love with you," he chuckled. "So love has blinded you?" She asked in a teasing manner. "Well, that's not exactly what I meant," Anakin stated. "But it's probably true," Padme smirked again before leaning against the balcony. "Ani, I've been thinking. I would like our baby to have a godfather, or a godmother, both even," she said. Anakin was a little suprised, but was more curious. "Who did you have in mind?" He asked. "I don't know. Someone we trust, someone who's capable of taking up that role with responsibility," she said, turning back around and brushing her hair as Anakin smiled and went inside. Truthfully, Padme did have an idea for who she wanted the Godfather and Godmother to be, yet she didn't want to tell Anakin just yet because she was nervous on how she might react.
