Before we begin, I just want to clear something up so people don't get confused. This chapter will occure at the same time as the next few chapters, I'll put a notice at the top of a future chapter to let you all know when things have moved on.

On with the chapter!!

Mandalore:

Maul sat on his throne inside the Mandalorian throne room. Things had been....difficult to say the least. Savage and him had replaced Almec with a fierce warrior named Garr Saxon under the orders of Malidictus, and hearing of the events on Coruscant worried him, it worried him that this war would be brought to Mandalore, and then it'd be a case of sending innocent lives to battle, and to die. Long ago, he would've encouraged such a thing, but these days, in these times. He hated that idea, and he hated the idea of the Republic sending in a fighting force to topple him, especially when Sidious was growing more and more in strength. However, that wasn't the only thing on his mind. There was another thing, a person to be exact.

"Thinking hard there brother?" Savage grinned. "What is it Savage?" Maul asked, sounding tired, but also very relieved he could act like himself again, and not have to act like the cold, heartless being he was when he killed Pre Vizsla, so many months ago. "I can sense your thoughts. You're lingering on someone. The Pantoran Senator perhaps?" Savage asked. Maul looked away, his brother was right, he was indeed thinking of Riyo.

Oh how he missed her. They'd spent such little time together, yet it felt like heaven. Even though he'd been away for a long time, he still didn't think that she'd forgotten him, nor did he forget her. Every moment he spent alive, there was always a thought of Riyo. Sighing, he sat down on his throne.

Just then, the doors opened. "Who is it?" Maul snarled. "Come now Maul, surely you won't stop at your fellow Sith?" A cocky, but wise voice spoke up. Looking up, Maul couldn't help but grin when he saw, Darth Dren waltz into his throne room. "So, the Grand Emperor sent you?" Maul asked. "Yep. He also sent someone else," he said, stepping to the side, to reveal....Ahsoka Tano, who nodded her head. "A Jedi? I wonder why he sent you here," Maul commented, curious. "I'm not a Jedi, not anymore. I left the order and joined up with the empire, as a Light Templar Warrior," she said. "Interesting, care to elaborate?" Maul asked. "The council lost faith in me, a fair few didn't but it wasn't enough for me to not be put on trial, Dren was too. With everything going off on Coruscant, The Grand Emperor thought it be best me and Lord Dren stay away from Coruscant and assist you here instead. I have to say, your different than what I heard about you, the cold, vicious, brutal warrior who enjoys killing," Ahsoka commented.

"That was the old me. Before the Grand Emperor found me. Now, I have channelled my rage, anger, and everything I used to be, into my own personal power source for the dark side. Though it didn't quench my thirst for knowledge, what use is a light warrior if I may ask?" He pondered. "A light Templar warrior acts as a boundary between missions that would require a 'lighter touch' shall we say, where only the light side can gain answers. But enough of that now, The Grand Emperor heard of an unsanctioned Republic attack on Mandalore. He sent us to assist you and the Mandalorians in the conflict," she stated. Maul grinned as Savage spoke up. "Seems we have some pest control to do. Let us make preparations," he said as they all got to work.

--------------

The unsanctioned Republic 406th force came in through the atmosphere hard, probably under the direct order of Palpatine. This was going to be a long, long fight, but they would be prepared for it. The Sith empire couldn't get involved directly, but thanks to smuggling in a fair few weapons and advanced technology, the Mandalorians stood a good chance at winning, although it would be hard for Ahsoka seeing the force she once fought for die. To hide her indentity, she was given a mask that would hide her face, and her sabres had been turned pure white, instead of green or blue so she wouldn't be recognised. Her mask looked incredibly detailed, and anyone would have a hard time seeing it was her under it, along with the black hood she would wear.
