Coruscant:

Malidictus had just arrived back on Coruscant after the little...event...on Kamino when night had fallen. After having left Kamino, the Grand Emperor was thinking of how to sort this mess out, secure his empire, and prevent another genocide. Yes he had a somewhat low opinion of the Jedi, but that didn't mean he could stand another mass murder of an entire species, not after his time with Vitiate. His time in this era had changed him greatly, and it had made him see clearer than anytime in the rest of his life.

After landing, he got a call from Padme, surprising him. "Ah, Padme, what may I do for you?" He asked with a smile as he got off his ship. "Malidictus," she smiled back, "I was wondering if I could talk with you? Just you, I fear that I cannot trust anyone else," she said, sounding a bit desperate. Malidictus nodded, "Of course my dear, where do you wish to meet?" He asked. "My apartment will do, I trust you already know how to get there?" She asked teasingly. "Padme, I have spent what little time I have on Coruscant mapping out the surroundings and buildings, so yes, I do," he laughed. "I'll be there soon," he said before disconnecting. Hopper then appeared behind him, "My lord? What's the plan?" He asked. "Take the pair of Kaminoans back to Dathomir where they shall be imprisoned and left to rot for the rest of their lives, and then contact me. I am capable of being left on my own for a while, yes I am the Grand emperor, but that doesn't mean I want to flaunt my power, especially when tensions are high as they are now," he said. Hopper bowed and then took off in the ship with the rest of the clones as Malidictus headed off.

------------

Arriving at Padme's apartment, he entered and noted the beauty of it all, it really was a good place to live. His usual dark attire and red skin somewhat basked in the glorious sunlight from the balcony. As he walked, he heard a voice. "Malidictus," Padme smiled as she walked over and gave him a slight friendship hug. "How have you been?" She asked as she walked away.

"Good, the empire is flourishing, the people are happy, and we regularly catch the Separatists with their trousers down. It's a humours expression, but accurate at the same time," he said as they sat down. "So, what did you wish to speak to me about?" He asked with a smile. Padme's look dimmed a little, before she looked back at him. "I'm...pregnant. I trust you enough to tell you since you know Ani and I are married, and your also a close friend of mine," she answered honestly.

"That's understandable. Congratulations, for you and Anakin. But, I have to say, Anakin wasn't good at hiding it. You were, he wasn't, I mean I could look at him and figure it out," Malidictus laughed. "Is that all you wished to speak to me about?" He asked. "Umm, there are two other things. The first one is relatively easy to say. Since me and the Queen have been secretly working to make Naboo independent, and with you offering an alliance, I would like to suggest that if the Republic completely fails, then I would ask that Naboo be under imperial protection permanently, the queen has agreed to this," she said. Malidictus thought for a second before nodding, "I can arrange that," he answered.

"And for the second thing, I've been wanting mine and Ani's baby to have a godfather, or a godmother. And, I haven't talked with Ani about this yet, but just so you know....would you be willing to be the baby's godfather?" She asked. Now this, Malidictus couldn't have planned, predicted, thought, or even comprehended this. This, was a WHOLE new can of worms being opened.

Taking a moment, he thought about it, before nodding. "I would be honoured to take up the role of your child's godfather. I merely ask that you mention this to Anakin, although I doubt he'll be happy to hear about it," he said with a slight sigh, which Padme did as well. "I agree. He seems to be under a lot of pressure these days, not to mention he accused me of being a separatist when I simply asked that he appeal to the Chancellor and try to end this war diplomatically," she admitted. "The chancellor, something strange is going on with him, I can feel it," Malidictus stated, although he knew exactly what was going on with the Chancellor, he couldn't just out-right say it and be labelled as an enemy of the Republic. Something that infuriated him greatly.
