Chapter 46: True Hatred and New Life

Mustafar:

Both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka had stowed away aboard Padme's ship, landing on Mustafar, the Naboo Senator took a minute and saw who she thought was Anakin running across the gang planks to meet her. Both of them running towards each other and embracing tightly once they did so. "I saw your ship," Vader said. "What are you doing out here?" He asked. Padme looked at who she thought was Anakin with worry, "I was so worried about you. Obi-Wan told me terrible things, and then Malidictus hasn't been seen since the attack on the temple," she said.

"What did he say?" Vader asked. "He said you've turned to the dark side. That you...killed younglings," Padme panted, frantic about the whole thing. "Obi-Wan is trying to turn you against me," Vader stated, showing his true colours, and showing that he has indeed, lost his mind. "He cares about us," she said, "He knows," she added when Vader looked confused.

"He wants to help you. Anakin, all I want is your love," Padme desperately pleaded. "Love won't save you Padme," Vader retorted, his obsessive and possessive nature showing through. "Only my new powers can do that," he adamantly responded. "At what cost?" Padme asked. "You're a good person, don't do this," Padme said.

"I won't lose you the way I lost my mother. I am becoming more powerful than any Jedi has dreamed of. And I'm doing it for you. To protect you," he said unnervingly calmly. "Come away with me. Help me raise our child. Leave everything else behind whilst you still can," Padme begged. "Don't you see? We don't have to run away anymore. I have brought peace to the Republic. I am more powerful than the chancellor. I-I can overthrow him. And together you and I can rule the galaxy, make things the way we want them to be," Vader smiled insanely.

"I don't believe what I'm hearing," Padme whispered in horror and backed up. "Obi-Wan was right. You've changed," she whispered again. Vader looked pissed, "I don't want to hear any more about Obi-Wan. Or about that false pretender Malidictus. The Jedi turned against me, don't you turn against me!!" He snarled.

"I don't know you anymore....Anakin, your breaking my heart," Padme sobbed, as tears began to well up in her eyes, the fact that now she knew for sure, her husband, the man she loved, the man who she had fallen for, the little boy she had met all those years ago back on Tatooine, was gone. Fully, and utterly, destroyed and engulfed by the cruel, power-hungry, obsessive, arrogant, cold man, known as Darth Vader.

"Your going down a path I can't follow," she sobbed still. "Because of Obi-Wan?" Vader's jealousy flared. "Because of what you've done, what you plan to do! Stop, stop now come back!" She begged still as Vader looked up and saw both Obi-Wan....and Ahsoka, his former Padawan who he thought of like a daughter. Vader's anger flared, now SHE had betrayed him too?!

Turning away with an enraged and cold face, he looked at Padme and roared, "LIAR!!!!" before letting his anger consume them, Padme looked back and saw the pair, but she was too focused on Vader to comment. "No," Padme begged. "You're with them! You brought them here to kill me," he raged. Raising his hand, he began to force choke, his own wife.

"Let her go Anakin!" Obi-Wan ordered. When Vader didn't relent, Ahsoka tapped into what dark side training she had and aimed her hand at Anakin's gloved metal hand, before flicking her wrist and making him drop Padme. Looking at Ahsoka, she no longer saw her master, but a killer, Darth Vader. "What did you do?!" He roared. "I learnt ways of the dark side from the true Sith. I was taught how to put up a force shield that not even Sidious could get through, and that's exactly what I did to Padme, saved her life. From you," Ahsoka snarled.

Vader then turned to Obi-Wan as Padme lay on the ground, unconscious. "You turned her against me!" He accused. "You have done that yourself," Obi-Wan retorted as the Jedi, gray, and false Sith took off their cloaks, and began circling each other, with Obi-Wan checking on Padme when they managed to get to her. "You will not take her from me!" Vader roared.
