(Y/N) arrived at the location where Misa's photo shoot was taking place, having looked up the location after digging for a bit. The park was spacious and wide, a small playground in the background while families and couples were walking about the cement path. After searching the area, she was finally able to find Misa in all her gothic glory posing for several cameras.

The girl crossed her arms.

Hm...

I have like a love-hate relationship when it comes to Misa Amane.

She had so much potential as a character, but it was all wasted on her pointless love for Light. Not only that, but she was young and beautiful yet committed suicide because Light died.

Oh, well.

Scoping out her surroundings, (Y/N) could see that the only problem with her plan was how heavily guarded everything was. Misa's trailer and her shoot were surrounded by large men dressed in security uniforms, all making sure to keep anyone and everything out.

And that included (Y/N).

How am I going to do this?

As she further observed the shifting of the security detail, she began to notice a small time frame where the back of her trailer was unguarded. Glancing back and forth to see if anyone was watching her, she used that slot to slip through the door and enter the small space. Looking around, she didn't see anything of particular interest of the rather stylish interior: there was a couch positioned on the left side with a table in front of it, a messy array of papers and a half-eaten salad on top, and a vanity holding a variety of make-up and accessories.

Now... where is that notebook?

Looking next in the drawers on the vanity and through the cupboards, she again was presented with no luck. It was only when she riffled through the couch cushions was she finally presented with success, lifting up the Death Note she had been looking for, her expression impassive. But, as soon as she touched the note, a shadow fell over her. Whirling around, (Y/N)'s lips parted slightly when gazing upwards at the Shinigami known as Rem looming behind her.

Her body was thin, and quite skeletal, with long, spinal cord-like arms and bone-like skin. Purple hair draped over her face and covered one of her eyes that was wrapped in a cloth eyepatch. Her yellow, cat-like eyes seemed to glare straight into (Y/N)'s soul, the golden hoop earrings she wore catching in the light streaming in from the window.

"Who are you? How do you know about the Death Note?" Rem interrogated, a bony arm reaching out in a menacing warning toward her.

    (Y/N) didn't say anything.

"Speak human, or I'll kill you," Rem's tone dipped into a more threatening range.

"Firstly, my name is (Y/N)(L/N), but I'm sure you already know that, and probably not what you're looking for, are you?" The girl lifted her chin as she stared the Shinigami dead in the eye. "I'm not going to tell you how I know of the Death Notes, or how I know Misa has one. I'm not even going to tell you how I know of her developed interest in the one who killed her parents' killer or of your... feelings for her. All I will tell you now, is that if you want to protect her as you say you do, you will allow me to take this notebook away."

"And why should I believe anything you say, human?" Rem demanded, looking at (Y/N) as if she were pure scum.

"How can you not when everything I've said is true?" (Y/N) merely lamented.

Rem stayed silent.

The two continued staring at one another.

Finally, Rem looked upwards and out of the window towards Misa who was laughing at something the cameraman had said, seeming to contract as she finally said, "...Fine. Take the Death Note. I granted that note to Misa for various reasons, but who knows? It might be beneficial for her to live a normal life without it."

"Thank you... Rem," (Y/N) smirked.

The Shinigami noticed how the girl seemed to know of her name, but didn't touch on that topic, instead staring quite clearly, "But just remember, if anything happens to Misa, I will write your name in my Death Note and kill you."

"I wouldn't suspect anything other," (Y/N) merely shrugged before walking out of the door to then slip back into the crowd discreetly, hiding the Death Note from sight in her bag.

    See, Light?

Things don't always go according to plan.

She felt a type of buzz jolt through her at the thought of somehow completely altering the storyline to fit what she wanted. She knew of what was to happen and who would die, so why not try and change fate? It was such a tempting fruit that she had to bite into it, especially when the cost of her favorite characters' lives were on the line. Unfortunately, even after a week of meeting up with Light frequently and staying on top of her school work, people eventually starting to see the boy as Kira, a creeping sense of boredom kicked in.

    That was, until one day.

She was walking back home alone after running a quick errand to the store, her small bag of groceries swinging in her hand as she strolled casually down the sidewalk. And then, so very suddenly, the broadcast on one of the buildings' screens was interrupted to show a dark-haired man in a pressed suit sitting at a desk. And written on his nameplate was the name: Lind L. Tailor.

    She inhaled sharply.

L already set the trap up.

Continuing to watch with the several people who had also stopped in the middle of the street, (Y/N)'s eyes narrowed when Tailor suddenly stopped speaking mid-sentence, grabbing his chest in a violent manner whilst grunting helplessly before eventually collapsing and having to be taken off-screen. Just as whispered murmurs of disbelief started rippling in the crowd, a gothic letter L appeared on screen, a distorted voice then explaining that the man just now wasn't him, and that this wasn't a world wide broadcast.

    Kira had made a mistake.

With a smile toying on her lips, (Y/N) turned away and continued walking.

    Well...

    This is it.

    This is it
