(Y/N) stared at Misa who stared back.

The next day at To-Oh, just like (Y/N) thought, the actress was waiting for her and Light on a bench, kicking her legs out absentmindedly as she stared at the passerby's. It looked like she was on a break, and she also looked bored, so when she saw the two of them approach, her face instantly lit up.

"(Y/N)!" She squealed as she rushed forward to engulf the girl in a hug.

(Y/N) merely sighed.

Just great.

I hope Mogi doesn't get suspicious.

Well, considering she ran up to hug me instead of Light doesn't seem too weird.

"Hey," said boy cut into her thoughts as he grabbed Misa by the arm and tugged her away from (Y/N), his expression shifting into a scowl while his grip tightened in a rather crushing manner. "You shouldn't hug people you don't know. I'm sure (Y/N) already told you yesterday to leave her alone. Granted, I was just reading between the lines, but I've known her long enough to know what she was saying. Get lost."

He shoved her away.

(Y/N) blinked up at him.

He had never gotten so violent—but then again, Rem was always around so he couldn't.

Glancing up at the Shinigami and seeing her entire body practically trembling with rage, she immediately took that as her cue to step in between them and calm things down before they got too heated. It wouldn't do her any good if Light was killed off, anyways.

"Light, while that is what I meant towards Miss Amane, you shouldn't be so rude," she pointed at him in a rather cross way.

Misa sniffled behind her.

Her happiness at seeing such a handsome boy crashed when he glared at her so hatefully.

(Y/N) tilted her head at the reaction.

Hm...

Maybe this is better, too...

Now that Light's revealing his true colors to her instead of manipulating her with gentle words and touches, Misa will see now.

She shouldn't pursue him.

"Hey, Light, give me a moment alone with Miss Amane and I'll be with again shortly," she waved him away, much to his dismay. "It'll only be a minute." Watching as he grumbled under his breath but did as she asked by walking several paces away, she then turned back to Misa with a darkening expression as she said, "I told you not to come near me again."

"But I wanted to see you both again!" Misa stomped her foot, her hazel eyes turning glossy—a clear factor that she was close to crying.

(Y/N) stilled.

She hated seeing people cry.

And in that moment, it felt as if she were forcing Misa out of her pivotal role in her story. She was the one supposed to be involved with Light and L, not (Y/N). She had no say in what (Y/N) did or influenced, and she had no say now in terms of meeting the real Kira to thank them for avenging her parents.

She rubbed the back of her neck.

Rem watched (Y/N); watched the conflicting expressions cross her features.

It made her one eye narrow.

"Listen, Misa," (Y/N) began softly, surprising the other girl when she suddenly dropped honorifics. "I respect your commitment to Kira. I respect your abilities as the second Kira and your resourcefulness. However, if you continue to impede on my plans, I will have no choice but to kill you."

Misa seemed shocked by her words.

And when she looked up towards Rem, her heart further dropped in her chest when the Shinigami merely stared ahead.

"I see..." she mumbled, turning away.

"I ask that you stop killing as the second Kira, and move on," (Y/N) continued, watching as Misa seemed to curl in on herself. "I don't want you to ruin your life because of me."

"I would have been fine with that," Misa immediately stated. "But I will do as you ask."

"...Thank you," (Y/N) nodded before walking towards Light who was waiting for her rather impatiently, his arms crossed over his chest while is foot tapped incessantly against the ground. "For one more final time, goodbye Amane Misa."

Light glared down at (Y/N).

She raised a brow.

"So?" He then questioned.

"So, what?"

"That didn't look to be an entirely pleasant exchange," he further explained as he watched the girl from the corner of his eye, a bit worried about her whilst also being simultaneously annoyed at Misa. "What happened between you and that girl? You seem to dislike her while she... adores you. I'm not sure I understand the correlation."

"You don't have to worry, Light," she forced out a small chuckle. "It's just girl problems."

"If you say so..." he muttered, not entirely convinced, especially when seeing the way the smile instantly fell from her face when she thought he wasn't looking.

To say he was concerned was an understatement.

More than anything he wanted to do anything in his power to please (Y/N)—to lavish her with whatever her heart desired. Of course, such a wish was futile when she never confided in him with what she was actually feeling or wanting from something or someone. While normally he would be aggravated towards anyone who made him feel that way, that emotion didn't extend towards (Y/N).

It amused him, to say the least.

He wanted to see just how far his feelings for the girl went if this was the effect.

As he went about the school day, he tested himself on what his reactions would be concerning (Y/N)—the results were quite interesting. Whenever he was near her, his heart rate would spike. With her or without her, he always found himself thinking of her. No matter where he went, he would subconsciously always try and search for her.

He was infatuated.

Completely obsessed with her existence.

And while normally people would see this as a problem, Light didn't think so.

In fact, he saw it as something different.

He saw it as normal.

As love.

    As love
