"You know, that really hurt," L spoke as he slowly pushed himself up, his dark eyes wide."That's enough!" Light yelled as he glared down at the fallen man, clearly annoyed by his rather careless demeanor when it came to a criminal—one that uprooted his life considering he was a suspect. "You don't feel like doing anything just because your genius deduction was wrong and I'm not Kira?"
"Fine," L grunted as he swiped at his face, a small bruise already starting to form where Light had punched him. "Perhaps I phrased it the wrong way. I meant it would be pointless for us to make a move, so we shouldn't even bother."
"If we don't chase Kira, he will never be caught!" Light continued, his voice rising as he then harshly grabbed the detective by the collar. "Is that what you want? If you were just gonna give up, then why did you involve all those innocent people? More importantly, what even is the point of this investigation anymore!?
"I understand. But still, whatever the reason..." L trailed off as he slipped out of Light's grasp to then crouch down and swing his foot around to hit him square in the face. "An eye for an eye, my friend."
Light landed on the couch he had just been sitting on moments earlier from L's kick, the furniture tipping over entirely and crashing to the ground. (Y/N) glanced between the two when sensing the anger and unbridled tension spark in the air, something she had never felt from just watching the show. It was obvious now to her that these two, as polar opposites, were not the type to get along. She quickly pulled out her phone to start videotaping, a shit-eating grin now plastered along her lips.

"You know... I'm starting to think that you won't be satisfied unless I am Kira!" Light continued arguing, watching with narrowed eyes as L once more crouched down.
"Well, there may be some truth to that," L stared emotionlessly at Light as he then put his thumb to his lips again. "In fact, now that you mention it... you're right. I think I wanted you to be Kira..."
Light gaped at him.
But he snapped back to his anger quick.
Curling his fingers a fist once again, he struck out to hit L straight in the face, the two then merely shaking against the force of one another.
"As I said before, an eye for an eye... I'm a lot stronger than I look, you know," and with that, L kicked Light back.
The detective then watched with apprehension drawing across his features when Light stumbled backwards and crashed into (Y/N), the force of her fall eliciting a sharp pain from her elbow that quickly spread through her arm. Wincing, her gaze flicked upwards to meet two pairs of shocked eyes, L looking the most guilty, however.
"(Y/N), are you okay?" He questioned softly as he reached a hand out to help her up.
But before she could even take it, Light slapped it away, his glare still sharp as he snapped, "Don't touch her! You're the one that hurt her in the first place. You've caused enough damage."
L took a step back.
"It's okay, Light," (Y/N) grunted as she stood up with said boy's help. "It was an accident."
"I can't help it," he mumbled as his eyes lidded, his grip on her arms tightening, but not to the point where it was excessive. "Whenever something concerns you, I cannot help but worry. You mean... everything to me. Are you sure you're not hurt too badly?"
Ignoring the confession that Light basically told her, she smiled up at him and said, "Yes, I'm fine. It's probably just a light sprain."
"Even still, and just in case, we should take you to the hospital since we wouldn't want your injury to get worse," Light continued as he tried to return her smile, however the look strained while his eyes revealed his true emotions—the hues swirled with anxiety and worry, along with something darker that she couldn't quite identify, nor did she want to. "I'll help you, let's go."
"Wait," L called, stopping them in their tracks. "If you want, (Y/N), Watari can check up on you here. He has acquired a multitude of skills, including medical knowledge and injury treatment."
Light shook his head.
But (Y/N) said, "Yeah, that's fine."
Grumbling under his breath but doing as she wanted, Light escorted her to the room where Watari currently was. L wasn't too far behind them, his hands in his pockets while a seemingly stony facade made up his expression. When opening the door to Watari's room, the older gentleman turned around in his chair to face the three, the many screens behind him emanating a ghostly blue glow.
"Oh, Miss (L/N), what happened?" Watari inquired, quickly standing up to approach her whilst adjusting his spectacles, leaning in to take a closer look at her arm.
"I fell on my arm," she answered.
"Well... you're lucky it's only a light sprain," he hummed lightly as his fingers barely brushed against her arm. "I recommend that you don't strain yourself too much the next few days."
"That's a relief," (Y/N) chuckled.
"Please make sure to put ice on that arm for fifteen to twenty minutes at a time and repeat every two to three hours, okay?" Watari instructed the girl before backing away with a small bow. "Do this for the next couple of days, and make sure to rest. If you don't, your injury might get worse, so please heed my advice, Miss (L/N)."
"Of course, thank you," she also gave a small bow before leaving with Light and L, giving both of them a knowing smile. "See? I told you it was only a light sprain, guys."
"Still, your health is the number one priority," L spoke up, glancing at her from the corner of his eye. "What would I do without you here if you got sick?"
"Who knows?" She shrugged, flashing him a warm smile that made him falter.
L looked away quickly.
(Y/N) was tempting.
So, very tempting.
