"If (Y/N)'s theory is right, we'd need to create a situation where Higuchi will not be able to pass on his power to anyone else," L stated with his thumb to his lip after Wedy hung up on him, continuing to eye the sweet-filled silver tray with interest. "We'll have him show us how he kills."

"So, what are you going to do?" Light queried, still a bit wary of the man.

"I'm going to trick Higuchi using Sakura TV."

"Like a hidden camera show!" Matsuda exclaimed enthusiastically, hands pumped into fists.

"Precisely," L nodded. "We'll use The Kira Special that Demegawa airs every week, booking a three hour time slot were we'll say that the identity of Kira will be aired at the end of specified special."

"Would anyone actually buy that though?" Matsu mused. "This is Sakura TV after all. For all we know, Higuchi might not even watch that program."

"We'll get Namikawa to call him and tell him to turn on the TV—that should be enough to get him to watch," Light added, glancing to Mastuda in agreement. "Higuchi will be convinced once he realizes that the special guest on TV is someone who knows his secret."

"Wouldn't that role be perfect for Matsuda then?" (Y/N) suggested with a finger to her lip, hoping to speed up the process of their plan. "The special guest needs to be someone Higuchi thinks he can kill, and if he believes that it was Misa's former agent who's files could probably still be located and was suspected of listening in on their meetings, he'd do everything in his power to stop him."

"That's right..." L proclaimed, smirking a bit at the genius of the idea as he held up a faint pink mochi treat, squeezing the confection between his fingers so that the frosting spilled from the sides. "We'll have Sakura TV use frosted glass and a voice filter to protect Matsuda's identity. However, Higuchi will soon realize from the announcements and silhouette that it's the agent, Taro Matsui. And just to make sure, we'll have the studio mess up and accidentally reveal your face from behind the frosted glass."

"Wow!" Misa yelped ecstatically, clasping her hands together. "Sounds exciting!"

"Until the show ends, the announcer will keep saying they'll reveal the full name of H, who's acting as Kira," L finally finished as he ate the mochi and licked his fingers.

"Higuchi would feel cornered and have no choice but to find out Matsuda's name as soon as possible if that's the case," Light summed up, placing a hand against his hip. "We can use that to anticipate his actions he'll take by then."

"Which means we'll witness his killing method," L murmured as he held up another mochi great. "After that, we arrest him. But... there is one potential problem with this plan though."

The Task Force leaned forward at that.

"Ah!" (Y/N)'s eyes lit up at the realization to his words. "You're wondering if Higuchi has the 'eyes' or not, are you?"

"Yes," L mumbled.

"Considering the fact that you're still alive, and how he's now pursuing Misa when being convinced that she's the Second Kira, I doubt that's the case," she shook her head with a smile, already knowing the fact to be true. "And, criminals who's names are broadcasted with their faces are the only ones dying. And now that Misa's persuaded Higuchi to stop killing said criminals, after two or three days, we'll be able to catch him, guaranteed."

"Your confidence is refreshing, (Y/N), thank you," L smiled upwards at her.

She returned the look.

Light's glower merely deepened.

"In the meantime, then, Matsuda will have to decide whether he wants to go through with this plan or not," L continued as he forced his eyes away from (Y/N), now sipping his tea while Matsuda frowned.

Then, the man spoke up.

"I don't need two or three days to decide," Matsuda shook his head, determination flashing in his eyes. "I want to do this."

(Y/N)'s heart fluttered in pride and anticipation at his words, the rest of the Task Force feeling the same when they sent smiles of encouragement his way. She couldn't help but be pleased with how things were progressing—how her plans for ensuring their lives would come into play. The group continued to  finalize their plans late into the wee hours of the morning until (Y/N) was distracted from such a process by a sudden phone call from Rin.

"Excuse me," she gave a short bow before leaving the room, not noticing the way Light watched her go with an expression that screamed his disapproval.

L mirrored the boy all the same.

"Hello?" (Y/N) pressed the phone to her ear once she was alone, having not expected for Rin to call in the middle of her business with Yotsuba. "Rin? What's going on?"

"Ah, hi, (Y/N)!" He stuttered out from the other line, sounding nervous.

The girl hummed at the thought.

"I was just calling to let you know that I have a day off coming up this weekend on Sunday, and I was wondering if you wanted to go with me to an art museum?" Rin continued, unknown to her rubbing the back of his neck in an awkward manner as he asked her out, wishing to every being above that she would say yes. "I don't know if you're too interested, but I just wanted to reach out and see..."

Silence from the other line.

"Sure," (Y/N) shrugged, not seeing what any harm could be done from one little outing. "I don't see why not. What time?"

"Maybe 11:00 A.M.?"

"Sounds perfect—see you then," (Y/N) hung up after saying her goodbyes, staring at the phone for a minute before smiling softly and slipping the device in her pocket. "He seems like a nice guy. It might be good to hang around someone like him."
