Drive With Me

I had just finished my last run for the Yellowstone at the rodeo, and it was a good one.

Walking down the chute area I guided my horse by the reins to the trailer and handed her off the one of the wranglers.
Looking over I saw Travis approaching me and smiled.

"You did alright Laura. You sure you don't want to be my wife?" He asked smirking at me.

I laughed and shook my head, taking my gloves off and sticking them in my back pocket.

"Sorry Travis. Too little too late." I spoke cheekily to him.

He flicked the brim of my hat before throwing his thumb over his shoulder.

"Well we're gonna pack up and then head er to the next one. You're more than welcome to come along if you'd like. You've proven yourself." He told me while nodding his head to the horse.

I sighed and looked at her patting her main. It was a good offer, but I had to pass it up. After telling the twins what Mohawk told me the other day, they said it would be best to leave for the base that night. I told them to go, but they wouldn't listen to me and leave me here. I committed to this, so I wasn't going to ditch halfway through.

"I appreciate the offer Travis, but I gotta get home and deal with some things. My family and I didn't exactly leave off on the best foot." I said to him before pulling my hand back and looking at him.

"I understand. Family is important. You have my number though and I have yours. So if you ever wanna come back out you shoot me a text or a call yea?" He said to me while clasping his hand on my shoulder.

I nodded and pulled him in for a hug. "Will do. Go get em yea?" I told him, pulling back and smiling.

"Oh we sure will Laura. Have a safe drive back." And with that he shoved my shoulder playfully before turning around and walking to the trailers.

Smiling to myself I turned around and grabbed my bag that held my gear in it and trudged out to the entrance.

Once I was through the crowd of people and at the beginning of the parking lot, I spotted the Lamborghini and Corvette instantly. They stuck out like a sore thumb compared to all the lifted and dirty trucks.

As I approached the two cars both drivers door opened and their holoforms stepped out. I sent them both a small smile as a greeting.

"Alright love, I'll throw your stuff in the back and we can get outta here." Sides said walking up to me and grabbing the bag from my hands.

Before I could even say anything his brother interrupted.

"Who says she's driving back with you. She can ride with me." Sunny said walking up to stand beside me now.

Uh oh. I looked between the two brothers.

"Because I asked first." Sideswipe said slamming his car door shut after throwing my bag in it and turning to face us.

"Doesn't matter. She's safer with me anyway." Sunstreaker said shrugging his shoulders.

My eyes widened slightly at the jab he made at his brother.

All three of us knew it was a sensitive subject still, and yet he went for the low blow.

"Really Sunny, you're gonna play that again." Sideswipe growled out stepping towards him.

"Hey, she wasn't with me when he attacked." His twin argued back.

I stepped in between the two and placed a hand on both of their chest to stop them from advancing on each other and causing a scene. There was no need for this.
