I woke up in the middle of the night to arms tightening around my waist and disgruntled noises.

Rubbing the tiredness out of my eyes I turned over to see a pained expression on Sunny's face as he slept. It seemed like he was having a nightmare.

I sat up causing his hands to slip off me and placed my own on his shoulders before gently shaking them.

"Sunny..." I whispered out tiredly.

He groaned before flinching in his sleep. I brushed some of his hair out of his face before leaning over him and shaking him a bit harder.

"Sunstreaker..." I said a little louder.

All of a sudden his eyes snapped open. But instead of the deep blue that I was slowly getting used to, they were a bright ruby red.

His arms shot out and shoved my shoulders with force causing me to go tumbling off the bed backwards. I hit the floor hard causing the wind to be knocked out of me.

I gasped and turned onto my side trying to catch my breath, starting to cough as I got little air in.

I heard him jump off the bed and I quickly scrambled to grab my phone off the nightstand, coughing as I went.

Once the device was in my hands I quickly hit Sideswipes name. It rang once before he answered.

"Laura what's wrong, it's the middle of the night." Sides voice came through tiredly.

I sucked in a deep breath before coughing again.

"Brother!" Is all I managed to get out. 

I saw Sunny's feet round the corner of the bed and shuffled backwards, my back hitting the wall. I trailed my eyes up to meet the glowing red ones.

He took a step forwards before he flinched and brought his hands up to his head. He dropped to one knee while grasping at his hair.

I took the opportunity to scramble past him and into the bathroom, locking the door.

What the hell had just happened? I heard that you're not supposed to wake others up while they were in a nightmare, but this seemed excessive.

I ran my hand through my tangled hair, hearing a muffled voice. I looked down at my phone before bringing it to my ear.

"Sideswipe, I-I don't know what happened. He was having a nightmare or-or something and then he opened his eyes and they were red!" I told him through the phone with a shaky voice.

"Laura hun take a deep breath okay? I got through to him. It's some sort of ptsd glitch in his helm. Did he say anything to you earlier that could've triggered it?" He asked carefully through the phone.

I nodded my head, but realized that he couldn't see it. I shouldn't tell him because it wasn't my secret to tell, but at the same time...

"Laura sweetspark I need you to talk to me"  Sideswipe said calmly over the line.

"Yea-yea. He told me what happened to him before you guys rescued him..." I trailed off hearing movement on the other side of the door.

"He what? Okay listen to me I'm going to leave base first thing in the morning after I talk to Optimus. Sunstreaker should be okay now, I can feel the regret over the bond. But I don't want to risk it happening again and have a worse outcome. He wouldn't be able to forgive himself if he hurt you and I don't know what I'd do without you." He told me over the phone.
