Author's POV
Adhrit was sitting quietly, staring at the ring on his ring finger. He didn't know, what fate had kept in store for him.
Where Adhrit's gaze was fixed on the ring, Anaisha's gaze was fixed on him. She was staring at him in awe, as he was looking dashing, but one thing was missing — and that was his dimpled smile.
She was missing his cheeky, dimpled smile, which he often flashed at her during their cute talks.
Suddenly, all the lights went dim and music started playing. All the couples started grooving along with the song.
Anaisha too grabbed Adhrit's hand, and said with enthusiasm, "Let's go... I also want to dance with you."
Adhrit wanted to deny her, but his eyes met Jeet's threatening eyes, which were daring him to say no. And when his eyes met Anaisha's eyes, he knew that, she definitely wasn't asking him, she was just telling him — and he had to agree, whether he wanted it, or not.
Adhrit took a deep sigh and nodded his head, following her.
Behke behke nain
Cheene dil ka chain
Toh ye pyar hai
Koi intezar
Karde bekaraar
Toh yeh pyar hai
The song was playing, and they both were now in each other's arms.
Yaadein, dil ko tadpaye
Saansein, ulajti jaye
Aankhen, sapne dikhlaye
Jab anjaane
Adhrit's hands were on Anaisha's waist, and Anaisha's hands were encircled around his neck.
Hote hote oh yeah
Ho jaane do na pyar
They were moving rhythmically along with each and every beat.
Dhoondti hai nazar
Ek haseen ko agar
Koi armaan leke
Adhrit twirled Anaisha and held her close to his chest, making their heartbeats go wild.
Toh prem nagar
Ki taraf hai safar
Dil ka sauda leke
He slowly bent Anaisha down, both staring into each other's eyes.
Pighla sa, pighla sa,
ho jo man
Sulga sa, sulga sa,
ho jo tan
He picked her up in his arms, and twirled, still not breaking eye contact.
Dil jo dhadakte hai
Shole bhadakte hain
Hosh toh khota hai
Pyar jab hota hai
He slowly put her down, and once again bent her gently. They were staring at each other, like there was no tomorrow.
The dance was already finished, but they were still in the same position, as their staring competition definitely wasn’t ended as well.
Both had different emotions in their eyes for each other. Where Anaisha's eyes screamed her madness for Adhrit, Adhrit's eyes screamed his hatred for her.
Watching their sizzling chemistry, everyone was in an awe, and clapping sounds resonated through the hall. Listening to them, they both finally decided to move from their respective places.
Anaisha's eyes were still fixed on Adhrit, but Adhrit was trying his best not to look at her.
He was controlling himself, his heart, which had decided to betray him at an altar. All the feelings, which he had buried deep inside his heart, decided to embrace him once again — and he definitely didn't want it.
He wanted to leave from there as soon as possible. The ring on his finger was suffocating him. It was feeling like a prison to him, he was feeling like a prisoner — and little did he know, he actually became a prisoner. A prisoner of her, for a lifetime.
