Author's POV
Adhrit didn’t speak a word after coming back into the room from dinner. His face was blank, but his eyes were screaming.
They were screaming with a storm, that was boiling silently beneath his calm exterior.
He sat in the room, still dressed in the same shirt from dinner, staring at the reflection of Anaisha’s victorious smile in the mirror across from him.
Anaisha was removing her earrings, humming a soft French tune under her breath. "Paris it is then…", she said casually, breaking the silence — her eyes meeting his in the mirror.
Adhrit didn't reply. He stood up slowly, walked toward the balcony, and leaned over the railing, letting the cold wind caress his face.
Anaisha turned slightly, her tone soft, yet possessive. "Don’t pretend like I can’t feel your anger, my Love. Your silence is loud."
Adhrit still didn’t respond. He was clearly trying to ignore her, and that’s what she hated the most.
She got up and walked to him, wrapping her arms around his torso from behind.
"What happened to my Love? Angry with me? But why? What did I do now for you to get angry with me? Don't tell me, you’re angry because of that honeymoon talk…"
Adhrit exhaled a sharp breath, and replied with gritted teeth, "Don't pretend, as if you know nothing… You know very well, what’s actually wrong with me… You know very well, that I still haven't accepted this marriage, and you want to go on a honeymoon with me? You know, if I had wanted, I would have argued with you right there, but your guests were present there, hence I stayed calm. But don't consider my silence as my affirmation. I don't want to go anywhere with you."
Anaisha laughed slightly hearing him, which only irritated him further.
Tightening her hold on him, she went close to his ear, and said in her alluring voice, "Now, whether you believe it or not, what difference does it make? Because the marriage has already taken place, and now, you have become my husband… And as far as going on a honeymoon is concerned, by now, Dad and Bhai would have probably made all the arrangements for both of us to go, so there is no chance of saying no…"
Adhrit tightened his grip on the railing, and said with frustration, "What the hell kind of compulsion is it... Don't you know anything else except forcing someone? You always force me to do something, or the other thing... Now will you force me to go on a honeymoon as well? Wait a second, first tell me, how did this honeymoon obsession come in your mind?"
Anaisha smiled a little, and blowing her hot breath on Adhrit's neck, she replied in a low, yet dangerous voice, "My obsession isn't that bloody honeymoon… My obsession is you… Only you… And this obsession of mine forced me to take this decision… I think, you desperately need a reality check, that you are now married, and you shouldn't be eyeing any woman, other than your wife. And to give you that reality check, what could be better than a beautiful honeymoon trip, which will finally make you realize, that you are a married man now…"
As soon as Adhrit heard Anaisha say this, a wave of extreme shock, and realisation washed over him. He had glanced at Niharika for a second, and Anaisha had caught him. And that’s what triggered her, which resulted in this honeymoon bullshit.
Although he now knew what the actual matter was, but still for confirmation, he asked, acting confused, "What do you mean? What are you trying to say?"
Anaisha smiled, her lips brushing against his neck, as she whispered against his skin, "Oh my naive Love… Pretending to be so innocent… Tell me honestly, weren't you looking at her? After our last conversation, you still had the courage to do that. So I thought, why not just take you somewhere far away from all these fucking distractions, so your attention doesn't go toward useless people, because I don't have much patience to tolerate all this… Either I will kill that girl, or I will end up hurting you…"
