Author's POV

Adhrit was still standing in the same position in the room, thinking about his and Anaisha's conversation a few minutes ago.

His fists were clenched, heart pounding, breaths shaky — not because he was scared of her, but because the reality was crashing in like a tidal wave.

She had said everything she wanted, and walked away victorious. But he — he was still trapped.

He leaned against the cold wall, closed his eyes, and whispered slowly to himself, "What the hell is happening to me...?"

One part of him burned with rage, ready to tear apart this golden prison.

But another part, quieter, darker, kept whispering her name — Anaisha!

All because, there was a time, when his heart fell for her, and now, his heart was not ready to hate her. Now, he was fighting his inner self.

Her madness, her dominance, her possessiveness — it was poison laced with perfume. And against his will, he was inhaling it.

Suddenly, a knock on the door startled him, dragging him out of his trance.

It was Sheela, a timid maid. She bowed her head in front of him, and said in her meek voice, "Sir, Jeet Sir has called you for dinner... Anaisha madam is also downstairs, waiting for you...."

Adhrit's jaw tightened, but he soon schooled his expressions, and politely told the maid to go from there.

He first straightened his t-shirt, then went to the washroom, splashed some cold water on his face, and walked out — not for the family, not for Jeet, not even for Anaisha, but for himself.

He made himself understand, that whatever happened in the morning was wrong, but not eating wasn't a solution.

In this family, he considered nobody as his own, and knew it very well — even if he didn’t eat, it wasn’t going to make any difference to anyone else. On the contrary, his health would deteriorate. So why should he spoil his health by not eating food because of someone else?

With this thought, he motivated himself to go downstairs and have dinner, because it was already very difficult for Adhrit to skip his breakfast and lunch, and now, his hunger wasn’t in his control.

£ Dining Area

Everybody was sitting, and the servants were serving the delicious dishes on the dining table.

Adhrit was also coming in the same direction, but his steps stopped midway, when he heard Jeet’s voice in his ears, who was saying to Anaisha, "Baby sister, you didn’t had your breakfast and lunch because of Adhrit, and now also, you are not touching the dinner...."

Anaisha didn’t reply, and sat there quietly, as if nothing happened, and she heard nothing.

Pranay let out a heavy sigh, as he tried to make Anaisha understand, "Princess, if Adhrit won’t eat his dinner as well, then will you skip this meal too? Don’t you think that it’s stupidity? He will eat whenever he feels like eating, but why are you not eating because of him? You were never like this...."

Upon hearing the last line, Anaisha’s lips curved upward in a psychotic smile, as she said in her obsessive voice, "I was never like this before, because I didn’t meet him then.... He made me this way.... He doesn’t even know, what he has done to me.... He made me crazy about him... This much crazy, that even if I want to, I can’t stop thinking about him, and can’t think about something else apart from him.... Every inch of me just keeps thinking about him, my mind is just occupied with his thoughts, my heart betrays me and starts beating faster, whenever I am near him, but he will never understand it.... He will never understand, what effect he has on me, that how much I love him...."
