Author's POV

After Adhrit left the kitchen, Jeet regained his senses, and started repeating in his mind, what Adhrit had just said to him.

Upon realizing, that Adhrit was actually claiming Anaisha as his — and that too in front of him — his eyes widened in shock.

Jeet never expected to hear something like this from Adhrit, but then, a sly smile formed on his lips, and he walked out of the kitchen whistling.

When everyone present in the hall saw Jeet coming out of the kitchen whistling, they gave him confused looks, to which Jeet just smiled, while looking at Adhrit, who was sitting on a sofa beside Preeti.

Adhrit stared at him, to which Jeet’s smile grew wider — a devilish smile.

Adhrit glared at Jeet with his sharp eyes for some time, then finally looked away in frustration.

Jeet was still smiling devilishly, looking at him, and then, he sat beside Naveen — the same devilish smile plastered on his lips.

Naveen passed him a gentle smile, and asked with curiosity, "What happened, Mr. Mehrotra? You seem very happy today, and that too, after coming back from the kitchen... Is there something very special in the kitchen, that made you this happy?"

Jeet glanced at Adhrit with a teasing smile, then shifted his focus again to Naveen, and replied with a smirk, "There isn’t, but there was... I can’t tell you, how much entertainment I had today. Well, leave it all. I must say that you both — I mean, you and Anaisha — are really a very good duo... You two are just amazing together..."

Saying this, he took a good pause, glanced at Adhrit’s face with a side-eye, whose facial features turned visibly sharp. His fists clenched, and jaw hardened, listening to whatever Jeet was saying.

Jeet's smirk widened watching his reaction, then he continued, completing his sentence, "In work... You two are just amazing together in work. You guys should do more projects together. I don’t know, if I’m even doing anything here, like you guys are just enough to complete this project. You two have very good chemistry indeed..."

Naveen laughed slightly at Jeet's compliment, and replied in his usual polite tone, "I never knew, that you are this funny, Mr. Mehrotra... You are just over-praising both of us... We are doing normal work, nothing much special!"

Jeet smiled, and replied in an extra sweet tone, unlike his usual one, "I wasn’t just over-praising... You deserve this praise. Trust me, if my sister hadn’t fallen for my little brother-in-law, then watching the chemistry of you two, I would have gotten you both married to each other..."

Hearing Jeet’s words, everyone looked at him in surprise, while Adhrit clenched his fists even tighter than before in anger.

He knew very well that, Jeet was doing all of this just to instigate him, but still, even after knowing everything, he wasn’t able to control himself.

His anger level was rising continuously, and unknown to him, he was literally passing a death glare to Jeet right now.

Jeet was noticing every expression of Adhrit with full focus, and when he witnessed Adhrit’s death glare on himself, a knowing smirk spread across his lips on its own.

Naveen was looking at Jeet with shock, but then, he thought that Jeet might be joking with him, and laughing lightly, he shrugged that topic off, saying, "I think, it’s already time for breakfast... We must head off to the dining table for that..."

As soon as Naveen completed his sentence, Adhrit got up from his place, and without sparing a single glance at anybody present there, he headed off to the dining table.
