Author's POV
£ Next Morning
Sunlight streamed softly through the large glass window, casting a gentle, filtered light across the room — a clear sign, that morning had fully arrived.
Anaisha was still deep asleep, lying peacefully on the bed. Her hair was spread out on the pillows, and her face held a relaxed, untroubled expression. Adhrit, however, was not beside her.
A few minutes later, the washroom door opened, and Adhrit walked out, energetically drying his hair with a towel.
When his eyes landed on Anaisha's serene, sleeping face, a smile automatically lit up his lips.
Seeing her so peaceful, he didn't feel like waking her, but a glance at the time prompted him to act.
He walked over to the bed and spoke softly, "Anaisha... Wake up. It's morning."
She stirred slightly, then, with a murmur, settled back to sleep, her hand finding and holding his.
His smile deepened, and his eyes lingered on her beautiful face.
He gently placed his other hand on her cheek, caressing it lightly. "Hey... Anaisha... Wake up. Don't you need to get to the office? Come on, get up."
This time, her eyes fluttered open slowly.
The very first face she saw, was the one most attractive to her in the entire world.
Anaisha's lips instantly curved into a smile, delighted to see Adhrit's handsome face right in front of her.
"Good morning!" she murmured, her voice still husky with sleep.
"Good morning!" he whispered slowly, lightly brushing her hair off her face. "It's almost breakfast time. Hurry up, and get ready. You have to go to your office today."
She nodded sleepily, stretching like a lazy cat beneath the sheets, her eyes still locked on his.
"You got ready so early? You never used to wake up this early before, but here... you always wake up early..." she asked, sitting up and pulling the blanket up around her chest.
"Hmm. That's what you think..." he replied casually. "I never woke up early while living in your mansion. But here, I can't even dare to risk it. Otherwise, my dear father will appoint me as the unpaid servant of this house for the whole day."
She looked at him wide-eyed, trying to process, if she had heard him correctly.
"Does he really make you a servant for a whole day?" she asked, genuinely shocked, her eyes full of disbelief.
He laughed lightly at her reaction.
Still chuckling softly, he explained, "He is a very disciplined man. So, if we don't follow the rules, he punishes us. And for punishment, he makes us do all the household chores for the entire day. Not just me, Arjun Bhai has done it several times too."
She nodded, still looking shocked, but didn't press the matter further.
She looked at him for a few seconds, then asked with confusion, "Why are you dressed up in formals?"
Draping the towel neatly over a chair, he replied casually, "It's my first day at work. I don’t want to be late."
She frowned slightly. "Work?"
"Yeah," he walked over to the wardrobe, thoughtfully picking out an outfit for her. "I got a job, and I have to join today. Don't you remember?"
Hearing this, she suddenly recalled his announcement from the previous day.
