£ A Week Later – Reception Day
The temple wedding had been simple, private, and intimate. But today — today was different.
This one week passed in a blink, in the happiness of Jeet and Kriya's marriage.
Overcoming the past, they both got along with each other perfectly, enjoying their after-marriage phase with their baby, and today was finally the day, when their reception was organized in Mehrotra Mansion.
The Mehrotra Mansion shimmered with lights, laughter, and the soft hum of celebration.
Chandeliers glowed, flowers lined the halls, and a long red carpet stretched across the lawn. The air smelled of roses and marigolds, mingled with the faint scent of happiness, that only new beginnings could bring.
It wasn't just a reception — it was a double celebration. Jeet and Kriya's marriage was to be formally announced, alongside Adhrit and Anaisha's relationship being revealed to the world.
The mansion brimmed with guests, relatives, business associates, and, most importantly, the media. For the first time in months, the Mehrotra Mansion felt alive — not with noise, but with genuine joy.
In the beautifully decorated hall, Kriya walked in, dressed in a deep maroon lehenga, her mangalsutra shining softly against her skin. Her head was slightly lowered, yet her smile was radiant.
Jeet, walking beside her in a cream and gold sherwani, looked calmer than he had in years. His hand brushed against hers, a silent reassurance.
All the people present there congratulated them warmly, some in surprise, some with genuine affection. But for Jeet, nothing mattered beyond the one woman beside him, and the child, who laughed in his sister's arms nearby.
Everywhere he looked, he felt peace — a peace, he had once thought was impossible for him.
A little far from Jeet and Kriya, Adhrit and Anaisha stood together, but tonight, everything was different for them as well.
Unlike before, they both weren't trying to hide their relationship from anyone tonight.
Anaisha wore a soft lavender saree, her elegance turning heads everywhere she walked. Adhrit stood tall beside her, happy and smiling.
The whispers had already begun among the guests.
"Who is that boy with Miss Mehrotra?"
"Are they together?"
"Do you think, they are dating?"
"Is this true?"
"Is anything else left to announce?"
Pranay noticed the questioning looks in their eyes, and smiled softly.
He took the microphone in his hand, and looked at everyone.
"Ladies and gentlemen," he began, his voice steady yet warm. "Tonight is not just about one celebration, but two. You all know that, my only son, Jeet, has gotten remarried finally. He and my daughter-in-law, Kriya, have started a new life together with the blessings of all of us, along with their little baby boy."
Everyone clapped warmly, Jeet and Kriya exchanging shy glances.
Pranay then smiled knowingly, his gaze shifting toward the younger couple. "But tonight, we also want to share another happiness with you all. My only daughter, Anaisha, has chosen her life partner too. The young boy, who has stood by her and by our family, and has become our own — Adhrit. Adhrit, my son-in-law, more like my son, and my daughter, Anaisha, have both been married to each other for a long time now, and we all found this day to be the best to announce this good news with you all."
