Flashback from the end of the last:
"I'm sorry, I couldn't expla-" Sophie started to say, but she couldn't finish because Adrian had already pulled her into a kiss. Without thinking much about it, Sophie kissed her back. After a brief moment, they both pulled away and looked at each other with pure love and concern. Meanwhile, Daryl went somewhere else with Eugene, Mr. Hornsby, and the guards. Shortly after, Sophie, Gabriel, Rosita, Adrian, Aaron, and a few others followed.
Now:
They then stopped at a spot where Eugene then said something. "Ezekiel, Yumiko, Sophie, Princess, Rosita, and I set out. We wanted to find some hope in our dark days and say we'd hit the jackpot," Eugene said as he looked at the others, Maggie, Aaron, Lydia, Carol, Judith, Michael, Adrian, and many others, who were listening attentively while the Commonwealth soldiers were helping with other things. "I should step aside so you can hear it from the source—well, more like Sophie should do it, but she more or less forced me to do this now, as if I'm doing it instead of her." I now give my word to Mr. Lance Hornsby, the diplomatic representative of the Commonwealth," Eugene continued, whereupon he stepped aside and clapped, whereupon Mr. Hornsby went to Eugene. "Hello, I'm Lance," was the first thing Mr. Hornsby said, briefly looking at the people who looked at him, then smiling before continuing. "Thank you for letting us into your home, I must say I'm impressed with what you've built up here and what I've heard from the other communities. "But one thing is clear, and that is that you're going through a difficult time right now," Mr. Hornsby said when he saw that some things in Alexandria were broken and conditions weren't ideal. "But the Commonwealth is more than willing to help," Mr. Hornsby said, whereupon everyone listened seriously to Mr. Hornsby as he spoke. "And how do you plan to do that?" Rosita asked, now serious but also skeptical, her tone cold. "She's right, how do you plan to help us?" Sophie asked skeptically and coldly, because Sophie knew Rosita had a good point: how do these guys plan to help? "You stay, and we'll provide the materials and labor to rebuild what you've lost," Mr. Hornsby said confidently as he explained his plan, but now Sophie became even more suspicious. "That all sounds good, and all well and good, that you're providing us with materials and labor, but honestly, what's the catch?" Sophie asked skeptically, because Sophie heard a big "but" in the whole thing. "That's exactly what I'm getting to now, although it's not really a catch if I'm honest," Mr. Hornsby replied to Sophie's question. "However, if anyone is interested, I have another interesting option I'd like to offer," Mr. Hornsby continued. "And which one would that be?" Daryl asked skeptically. "That you could come to Commonwealth too. It would be safe there for the adults but especially for the children. We have a school there, a market and much more," explained Mr. Hornsby as he talked about Commonwealth and meant that it would provide a safe place for the children of Alexandria. "Let's assume we accept this offer that some of you would come with us to Commonwealth. What's the catch? What would we have to do instead to be able to stay there?" asked Daryl in his usual tone as he looked at Mr. Hornsby, who just continued to smile. "Nothing. We would just be happy if we became a partial part of Commonwealth, but of course you can come here anytime without restrictions, that's no problem," came Mr. Hornsby as he assured them that there was no catch. There was a moment of silence during which no one said anything. Rosita looked briefly at Daryl, who then also thought about it and nodded, and then Rosita took the floor while she looked at Mr Hornsby and then said something. "We'll think about it, but as much as I hate to say it, and I think the others will agree with me when I say that we could really use this support and manpower," Rosita said seriously, to which a few others now agreed. "That's okay, then we'll help here where we can for now," Mr. Hornsby replied. Shortly after, he asked where help could be provided, and Daryl and Rosita explained it to him, so he and the soldiers got to work while the others from Alexandria went back to their tasks or whatever. Sophie spent the time with Adrian, and they both just talked and enjoyed each other's company. Later, Sophie also spent the day with Gabriel, and Sophie helped him prepare weapons and other things. Gabriel spoke to Sophie about Rosita, but he also explained to her that he didn't want to replace Tara under any circumstances, because Gabriel noticed that Sophie thought he wanted to replace Tara.
