CHAPTER 19: 𓆩⟡𓆪

I'm standing infront of Katie in one of the courtyards at Tommen.

Katie Wilmot is standing infront of me.

Jesus.

"I thought about your offer." She says. I pick at an invisible piece of lint on my skirt and swallow thickly.

The redhead seems.. Oddly confident about all of this. She holds her chin up high and puffs out her chest a little bit.

She looks like a puppy, to be honest.

I smile internally.

"And?" I prompt.

"Yes."

My eyes widen in surprise.

"Yes," She begins to clarify. "I'll hook up with you. We'll hook up, and we'll do it every now and then."

There has to be a catch. No way she just agreed to this with no expectations.

Does Hugh even know about this? I mean, Pierce doesn't know about this, but it's fine because we're over. Officially.

Despite how conflicted I am, I can't help the small smile that forms on my face.

"Okay." I respond.

"We just have to keep it a secret."

I'm fine with that. "Okay."

"No one can know."

I nod. It feels like my stomach has exploded with butterflies - I can't tell if it's from anxiety or from how excited I am.

Katie's confidence slowly start to disappear as her cheeks flush and she looks down at the ground. She must be done with explaining and setting her standards.

"So, my place or yours?" I ask, crossing my arms. I have no idea what to do with my hands right now.

"Uhm.. maybe mine?" She says, hesitantly looking back up at me.

"Okay. Your place tomorrow, 7 PM?" I suggest.

It takes her some time to think before she nods, chewing on her lip. "Sounds good."

I nod too, uncrossing my arms. "I'll see you then."

And then I walk away, my heart pounding out of my goddamn chest.
