The boys get back from rugby practice, striding into the open yard with their duffel bags hanging off their shoulders.
It's gotten cooler now since it's the afternoon, which I'm grateful for. The sky has turned into a pretty pink and orange.
Johnny drops his bag as soon as he gets closer to Shannon, who already stood up and was bouncing with excitement at just the sight of him.
"Hi, Shannon," He grumbles, wrapping his arms around her waist and attempting to bury his head in her neck.
"Hi, Johnny," She responds happily. She stands on her tippy toes as she wraps her arms around his neck.
"Missed you.." He mutters. He inhales her deeply, squeezing her.
"Long day?" Shannon cooes softly as Johnny nods, attempting to bury himself further into the girl like a lovesick puppy.
"Alright, alright, wrap it up, you two." Gibsie groans as he collapses onto the picnic blanket.
Shannon gives her boyfriend the biggest grin and he pinches her cheek before kissing her forehead. "You look gorgeous like this, Shan.." He murmurs as they slowly walk away from the friendgroup, his hands never leaving her body as they enter the Kavanagh/Lynch house.
Gibsie blinks as he watches them. "Yeah, we're probably not gonna see them for a few hours. Kav's putting that pent up energy from practice in something else.. or should I say someone else?"
"Oh God, Gerard, please don't. Don't ruin how I view little Shannon." Claire groans, swatting at his arm.
Hugh sits besides me and puts an arm around my shoulder, gently pulling me into him. I smile.
"Hi, babe." He gives me a chaste kiss on the lips and I sigh.
"Hi," I say softly, cuddling against him and craving his warmth.
Gibsie rambles on about practice and every now and then Feely gives his input on the matter.
I try to focus on them but I see a flash of long blonde hair in the distance leaving Joey and Aoifes mini house, and my mind instantly drags me back to that night.
I breathe in Hugh but I think of her the whole time.
