Chapter 76

"What?" He asks in disbelief. "What are you saying, baby?"

I could imagine his facial expression right now. His heart must have ached the moment I said I need a break.

I was silent for few minutes, knowing how heart breaking this must be for him.

"Break. I need a break from this relationship." I say.

He lets out a small chuckle and says, "You are joking, right? Don't joke with me like that, Vini."

"No," I mumble. "I'm not joking."

"You are joking." He exclaims. "You are just...pulling a prank on me. Don't say that Vini."

"Aryan, I need a break." I say again with everything in me.

"Break?" He grits. "You want to break up with me, Vini?"

"No, I am not saying that." I exclaim. "I am saying that...I just need a break. I don't wanna break up. I just need a break from this relationship so that I can focus on my studies."

He huffs while I get nervous. "You are kidding me, Vini. What break do you want?!" He almost shouts.

"I can't handle two things at same time." I mumble. "My studies and this long distance relationship. We can take a break for two years until we both graduate."

"Who the hell put this thing in your mind?!" He grits angrily. "Vini, stop this bullshit. At any cost, I am not breaking my relationship with you. Not even for a second."

"But Aryan—"

"First tell me, who the fuck gave you this idea?"

He sighs angrily on the other side while I don't answer anything, knowing that it will make him even more angry.

If Aryan gets to know that Rohan was the one who told me this then he will definitely get angry on me and will also not spare Rohan for putting this thing in my mind.

"Speak Vini! Did you think this on your own?" He question.

"No," I mumble in a low voice while lowering my gaze.

"Then who?!"

I don't answer anything as I feel tears forming in my eyes. Soon, they fall down from my eyes and I start sobbing quietly.

"Vini, now don't cry." He says. "Just tell me the name. I'll not shout at you."

I sniff while crying silently.

"Vini, are you even thinking?" He asks softly. "If we take a break then will you be able to live without me? Can you live without our late night calls, video calls, gifts and letters?"

I pout sadly and immediately shake my head. No, I can't. I can't live without all these. But I am so confused on what to do and what not.

"I can't, Vini." He says softly. "I can't live without all these. I can't live without you. Our relationship. Our love." He says. "Will you be able to live like this, Vini? Without me?"

I breath heavily and continue sobbing and sniffing while wiping my tears off my cheeks.

I couldn't even take it anymore, so I removed my phone from my ear and hung up our call.

I grip my bedsheets and start crying silently. What do I do? Now, it's all in my hands. No one will help me. I have to manage everything on my own.

But I can't afford to break Aryan's heart if I am not able to set my priorities.
