"So this is your room."

The warden opens the door, revealing a twin-sharing room with an attached bathroom.

I and Mumma step inside after the warden. I smile lightly and move my gaze around the room.

There were two single bed in each corner of the room. Two study tables along with chairs. Two wooden polished wardrobe for clothes. An another door leading to the bathroom. The walls were white & pink in colour and two fans attached to the ceilings.

"Do you want to see the bathroom?" The warden asks.

"Okay" I smile and nod my head.

She opens the other door attached to the room, revealing a small bathroom.

"So, do you like the room?" The warden asks politely.

"Yes, Sister. I like the room." I nod.

"You won't find any problem here. Electricity and water is available 24/7. The departmental store is also nearby so you can buy everything there." She assures. "Even the area and the nearby places are safe for girls."

This hostel where I'll be living from now on is handled and taken care by the sisters of church. So there are strict rules and regulations which every girl must follow to maintain the dignity of the hostel.

"I already sent you the instructions and what all rules you need to follow while being here." The warden says. "I also sent you the meal timings and the menu list for breakfast, lunch and dinner."

"Yes" I nod.

"And Sister, what about her roommate?" Mumma asks her while looking at the luggage which were already there in the room.

"Oh, she must have gone to buy some essentials. She moved in here yesterday." She informs. "I'm sure you both will get along. She is a very nice girl." She tells me.

That's when we hear soft footsteps making their way inside the room.

I and Mumma turn around and see a girl entering the room with two shopping bags.

That must be my new roommate.

She was looking so beautiful with light brown skin tone and black eyes. Her hair was tied up in a bun and she was wearing kurti and jeans.

As soon as her eyes land on us, she instantly smiles brightly and quickly comes to us.

"Good morning, Sister!" She greets her.

"Good morning, child!" She smiles at her.

"Is she my new roommate?" She asks excitedly.

Sister chuckles softly and nods.

My roommate keeps her bags aside and extends her hand towards me for a handshake.

"Hii! I am Ananya Pillai and I am from Chennai." She smiles brightly.

I softly smile and shake my hand with her. "I am Vinisha Sharma and I am from Delhi."

"Vinisha! Wow! Such a unique name." She squeals in excitement.

"Thank you!" I shyly smile.

"And you must be her elder sister. Am I right?" She points at Mumma.

Mumma chuckles and shakes her head. "No, I'm her mother."

Ananya gasps loudly and shakes her head. "No way, you are a mother. I mean you look so young. I thought you both are sisters."

We all chuckle together.
