My First BikeRide
VINISHA

It's December now. We got our test papers from our school. The test was of 40 marks. In Accountancy, I got 31, the highest in the class. Kushal got 30, 2nd highest in the class. Meera got 10, which means she failed. Less than 16 means, you've failed.

We are in our tuition to show our papers to Siddharth sir. "Very good Vini, you really worked hard. This is what I expected from you. Good!" He praised me.

"Thank you Sir" I smiled.

"But next time, I want more improvement."

I nod and give him a smile. But in my mind, I am saying that he is still not satisfied. These teachers just don't stop with their expectations. How much more do I need to improve myself. I brought the highest score. Isn't it enough?

"So, how many failed?" Sir asks from the whole class.

There are 30 students in our batch. Out of 30, 24 raised their hands. Yes 24! Everyone was telling their marks to Sir. And the lowest marks in our batch is 02 which is brought by none other than Aryan.

"So Aryan!" Sir calls him. "Can you please stand."

Aryan stands from his bench and looks down with embarrassment.

"What are your plans for future?" Sir asks him. Aryan didn't give any answer, just stares down.

"Don't know?" Sir mocks. By his tone I can figure out that he is very angry. And soon there'll be a bomb blast in our tuition and then a volcano will erupt.

"If you're not in a mood of answering. Then, let me tell you that I'm done with your shit. You know you're worthless. You don't pay any attention in studies. You spend all your time in playing & gyming. Why the hell have you taken admission in my coaching centre? And why the hell have you opted for commerce. Did you thought commerce is gonna be easy? No, it's not, kid. I don't think that you'll have a bright future ahead."

Sir scolded him for 15 minutes and then scolded the whole class. This is how our tuition went. No studies, just lecture for continuous 2 hours.

It is 8:00 PM now. Finally the scolding lecture is over and we can go home.

"God! My ears are paining." Meera complains.

"He was so angry." I say.

"Hmm, I think Aryan must be very upset. He was the one to bear most of his anger."

I hum and nod my head.

At the same time, Meera's mom arrives to pick her up. After waving her off I stand outside our coaching centre. It's too dark. In winters you can't help it. Nights are longer.

I started walking but then I saw Aryan. He was leaning against his bike, typing something on his phone. I could make out with his face that he was pissed off. I started walking towards him. At first, he didn't notice me so I poked him on his shoulder. He lifted his head and saw me. He calmed himself and kept his phone in his pocket.

"Yeah."

"Hi!" I smiled and told him Hi. Why Hi?

"Hi!" He nods.
