Last Day
ARYAN

December here it is. And today is the last day of our school.

That is, 18th December, last day of our school.

I can't believe my school days have ended.

There will be no studies for us today. The teachers said that there is some special function prepared for us in the auditorium. And then, we will get dispersed at 10'o clock.

I don't even remember my 1st day of school but this last day of my school life, I'll remember it forever.

I'm gonna miss all my school memories with my friends and girlfriend.

Well, right now, I'm standing near Vini's house with my bike parked. It's already 7 and she hasn't came out of her house.

I even texted her but she didn't reply. She needs to hurry or else we will get late.

I take out my phone and was just about to call her when her house gate opened.

I look up hoping to see Vini but it was her mother instead who has come out to take the newspaper from the mail box.

She sees me then furrows her brows in confusion.

Oh shit!

She don't know that I pick up Vini everyday for school.

I smile awkwardly then join my hands. "Namaste Aunty!"

She nods with a small smile then walks to me. "Aryan, you here? What are you doing here?"

"I...." I have to think something quickly. I rub my neck then again give her an awkward smile. "I...actually... am here to.... pick Vini."

She raises her brows in amusement.

I let out an awkward small laugh and say, "You know Aunty, today's the last day of school. She don't want to be late that's why she asked me to pick her up."

"Oh!" She nods while taking my words. "She didn't want to be late today but she woke up late this morning and is eating breakfast right now."

"What? She woke up late?"

"Yeah," She nods. "If you want you can come in." She smiles.

"Ah...Okay...." I again go on chuckling awkwardly.

I follow her behind and enter their house after opening my shoes in the foyer. As I enter, I see an empty living area. I move my gaze towards the dining area and see Vini sitting there having her breakfast.

My cutiepie was dressed in pink pj's, her hair was tied in a messy bun as she just woke up.

While munching her food, she glances up and gets shocked when she sees me.

I wave my hand at her and mouth Hi to her.

"Aryan was waiting for you outside so I invited him in." Aunty tells her.

"Oh!" Vini was still shocked plus nervous also as her mom just caught her boyfriend outside their house.

"Aryan, have a seat." Aunty says while gesturing me to sit on the sofa.
