Meraxes is the oldest and largest of the three dragons. At the time of the events of the Dance of Dragons, she is much larger than Balerion was at the time of Aegon's Conquest. She is Daenys' most loyal companion alongside Silverwing. When it comes to her rider, she is also very protective. She has a good relationship with the Direwolf Shadow, whom she occasionally allows to climb onto her back and slide over her wing onto the ground. She still does this today. Meraxes is Daenys' only dragon and the only dragon on the Blacks' side who is experienced in war and narrowly survived it.
Silverwing

Silverwing is the youngest of Daeny's dragons. Like Meraxes, she is Daenys' most loyal companion. Silverwing is the same size as Vhagar during the events of the Dance of the Dragons. She is also very protective when it comes to her rider. She is a very friendly dragon who is always very happy to receive affection and cuddles from her rider and her rider's family. She also has a very good relationship with Shadow. Vermithor and Silverwing are mates.
Vermithor

Vermithor is taller than Vhagar during the events of the Dance of the Dragons, but a lot smaller than Meraxes. Even though he has only been Daeny's dragon for a short time, he also has a strong protective instinct towards his rider. He accepts Shadow by his rider's side and by the side of the two she-dragons. His appearance makes him a fierce dragon. Vermithor and Silverwing are mates.
All three dragons would do anything to protect their rider, but Daenys herself would also do anything to keep her dragons and Shadow out of danger. Thanks to her connection to her dragons and her ability to read dragons, she can judge whether this situation could put her and her companions in danger.
