Daenys was still sitting there, wondering whether she should open the letter and read it. For the moment, she decided against it and made her way to her mother, because there was one question she really wanted to ask today.

"Muña, can I ask you something?" "Of course, my little zaldrīzes. What is it?" "I miss the North and Cregan, Arra and Nora. Can I go and visit the three of them and Winterfell?" "I have nothing against it. Write to Cregan and tell him you're coming to Winterfell." "Thank you, Mum. You're the best." With a smile on her lips, Rhaenyra hugged her daughter and Daenys ran back to her room to prepare the letter and send it off.

A few days later, Daenys set off for her dragons, because today she was leaving for Winterfell. The anticipation of the reunion was unbelievably great. When she arrived at where her dragons were, she stroked the muzzles of all three of them. "We're going back to Winterfell. Let's get going." Daenys mounted Meraxe's back and as soon as she was seated, the three dragons took off.

After a long flight on the back of her Silver Queen, Winterfell came into Daenys' view and all three dragons landed in front of the cave where Silverwing and Meraxe had lived for over ten years. Daenys dismounted from Meraxe's back, said goodbye to her dragons and made her way to the gates of Winterfell.

There she was greeted immediately by Arra and Nora. "Daenys! Look at you. Have you grown since we last saw each other?" "That may be possible, Nora. Let me give you a hug. I've missed you a lot." All three women were in each other's arms and didn't want to let go.

"I interpreted the commotion correctly. Eny, it's wonderful to see you again. My little sister has finally come to visit." "HaHa. I've missed you too, Cregan." Cregan and Daenys hugged each other too. "What do you think about a little trip through the woods?" "Gladly, when would you like to start." "Now. The horses are ready. Let's get going." Cregan and Daenys set off and were accompanied by Moon, Cregan's Direwolve.

"I have missed the beauty of the north very much, and you too. What has happened in the time here since I've been back on Dragonstone?" "Not much, actually. I am in the process of uniting the North even further and convincing the old lords of my worth. That takes a lot of time. What's new with you? Letters are all well and good, but there's not much you can say through them, as you never know whether they might fall into the wrong hands." "You're right about that. I found out that I'm fireproof. I met my uncle, more involuntarily than anything else. But he doesn't know who I really am. I had given him a false name. A day or so later, a letter with a royal seal arrived and I still haven't dared to open it." "That's understandable. How is Shadow on Dragonstone? Does he miss the north?" "I think he misses Meraxes, Sivlerwing and Vermithor more now. He's always with the three of them, even when you don't see him. Shadow has settled in well and I wouldn't want to miss him. I've already thought about trying to take him with me on the back of one of my dragons. You never know what that might be good for." "That's true. You never know what the future holds. As for the letter, just open it, otherwise you won't know what it's about." "I know, but somehow I still find it difficult."

They both rode on until they came to the Wolfswood. The decision to ride in was quickly made and Cregan and Daenys decided to ride back to the three dragons. When they reached the cave, Vermithor lifted his head to see who was coming towards them. Silverwing and Meraxes knew exactly who it was and remained still. "Is it just me or are the three of them a bit bigger than before?" "I think it's just you or I just don't see it anymore since I'm with them every day. Let's go back to the others. I want to spend the rest of the day with Arra and Nora before I fly back home tonight." "Then let's ride back."

Daenys spent the rest of the afternoon with Arra and Nora, with whom she talked about many different things. Arra told Daenys how her marriage to Cregan was going and that she was very happy that he was her husband. Nora told Daenys about her journey to the various houses in the north and about her task at her nephew's court. Daenys, on the other hand, told them both about her brothers and sisters and about her everyday life on Dragonstone. The evening came far too quickly and Daenys had to say goodbye to her closest friends again. This time Daenys climbed onto Silverwing's back. Meraxes and Vermithor would fly higher up and keep an eye on Silverwing and Daenys. On the flight home, Daenys wondered what she should do with the letter. Should she open it when she got back to Dragonstone?
