Meraxes stood up slowly, her eyes were still fixed on the sky. Then another dragon roar was heard, which now made Daenys stand up as well. She glanced in the direction of the sound. Shadow, who was still lying calmly on the ground, now retreated. Meraxes was becoming increasingly restless but didn't want to leave her rider defenceless on the ground. Nevertheless, she was ready for anything that might come. If anyone attacked, they would have no chance.

Out of the corner of her eye, Daenys saw Cregan running towards her.

'Daenys, what's going on? Was that one of your dragons?' The panic in his voice was clear to hear. 'I don't know what's going on, Cregan. It wasn't one of my dragons either. Meraxes is here with me and Silverwing sounds different. No matter who comes, Meraxes will protect us.' They both looked at each other and hoped for the best.

Then Daenys heard a very familiar dragon roar. Silverwing prepared to land at that moment and nudged Daenys with her giant head.

'We still haven't seen the other drago.....' 'Cregan, get behind the sapling so he can't see you. Go!' Daenys shouted to Cregan. He ran as fast as he could behind the trees and watched what was happening in front of him. Daenys was now standing in front of Meraxes and never took her eyes off the dragon that was flying towards them. Silverwing was standing next to Meraxes. The dragon landed on the ground with a loud thud and let out a bloodcurdling roar. He never took his eyes off the young girl.

'Meraxes, calm down my girl. He won't hurt me.' Even if this was just a feeling, Daenys wanted to dare. She had never tried to claim a dragon before. Meraxes and Silverwing had already been her most loyal companions when she was born. Determined, she walked slowly towards the dragon. The dragon standing in front of her bared its teeth menacingly and opened its mouth, faint flames already visible. At that moment, Daenys remembered the song 'Hāros Bartossi', a Valyrian dragon song, and began to sing it. With each verse sung, the dragon calmed down in front of her until Daenys was allowed to stroke it. Happy that he hadn't turned her into a pile of ashes, she was about to make her way back to the other two dragons when the other dragon nudged Daenys with his head and she fell into the snow. Laughing and relieved, she lay in the snow and looked closely at the third dragon. He laid his head down next to the young Targaryen and her Silver Duo also settled beside her.

Cregan walked slowly and carefully in Daeny's direction.

'Eny, are you all, right? Who is this dragon?' 'Oh, Cregan, yes, I'm all right. Nothing's happened to me. Now I have three dragons. I can't believe it. To answer your question, this is Vermithor the 'Bronze Fury'. He and Silverwing are mates. I think he just followed her and is now here with us.'

The excitement in Daeny's voice was clear, as was the glint in her eyes. She had always loved the story of the Bronze Fury and now he was her companion.

Once Cregan was sure there was no danger from the third dragon, he sat down in the snow with Daenys and they both talked about everything that had happened since the return from Castle Black.

'Cregan, I would like to take Vermithor on our first flight. ' 'You do that. I'll see you later.'

With that, Cregan made his way back and Daenys climbed onto Vermithor's back. Sitting in the saddle, she stroked his scales.

'Sōvegon, Vermithor' With a powerful push, Vermithor took off into the sky. Shortly after him, Silverwing and Meraxes followed into the sky. The three dragons flew with Daenys over Winterfell, the Wolfswood and Bear Island before heading back to the cave.

The next few days flew by and the bond between Vermithor and Daenys grew from day to day. Shadow also got to know the new dragon at his owner's side, and both accepted each other immediately.

The Silver Dragon's time in the north was slowly coming to an end.
