Aegon and Helaena flew off with Dreamfyre and Seasmoke towards Essos. Rhaenys and Daenys stood with the rest of the dragons and watched the two fly away. "Be careful when you fly back to Dragonstone. I don't know what awaits you there now. Maybe you could make them change their minds, but I wouldn't believe it for now." "I'll be careful, I promise you that. Continue to rest and regain your strength. Meraxes and Silverwing will stay here again. I will only fly to Dragonstone with Vermithor." Daenys said goodbye to her grandmother and then climbed onto Vermithor's back. Off to Dragonstone!
Vermithor landed a little away from the castle, where no one could see him. Daenys made her way slowly and overcast to the castle. She looked around a few times to see if she noticed anything unusual. Once inside the castle, she went in search of Jace or her mother. She walked through the corridors of the castle and opened a few doors but found no one. Her youngest brothers, Aegon and Viserys, were not in their rooms either. Suddenly, Daenys saw her brother Jace running towards her. "Daenys, there you are. I'm so glad to see you. Mother really did send for Dragonseed's. She wants to prepare them to ride your dragons. Daenys I don't know what else to do." Daenys was shocked. Her mother didn't take her words to heart.
"That doesn't sound good. Didn't my words have any effect at all? Jace, where are Viserys, Aegon, and Joffrey?" "Mother sent all three of them away to go to Pentos. A ship will take them there." "The Triarchy. They've positioned an outpost on the way to Pentos as far as I know." The shock in Jace's eyes was ever-present. "I'm trying to warn Mother. Daenys, you need to get out of here with Vermithor again." "No, she wants to give my dragons to others, then she will now feel what the connection between dragon and rider means. I've had enough now. I've tried, but now I'm at a point of no return." Jace nodded and then ran off.
Daenys ran back to where Vermithor was waiting. "Hello, my boy. Silverwing will be joining us soon. That's enough! I'm tired of trying to get my mother to change her mind with words, if she won't listen, she'll have to feel." No sooner had she spoken the last sentence than Silverwing landed next to Vermithor. "Both of you please land where you normally do and then we'll wait and see what happens." Daenys walked back to the castle and saw that Vermithor and Silverwing had already landed in their normal place and in the corner of her eye she saw her mother and several other people walking in the direction of the two dragons. Daenys joined the group unnoticed and tried to stay in the background. She really wanted to know how her mother would introduce Vermithor and Silverwing. She also tried to exude calm so that Vermithor and Silverwing would not become restless.
Rhaenyra stopped a few meters in front of the two dragons and turned back to the group. Daenys now also noticed that Baela was standing in front, as well as Mysaria. Her eyes wandered back to her mother. "Behind me are two of the oldest dragons still alive. Vermithor, the Bronze Fury, was ridden by my grandfather Jaehaerys and Silverwing was the dragon ridden by my grandmother Good Queen Alysanne. They are two of the greatest dragons and two of you will be their new riders and achieve great things. Both are currently riderless, so they need new riders." Daenys' eyes widened in shock. Wait, what did she just say? Riderless? She's going too far! That's enough!
Daeny's insides began to seethe, but she couldn't do anything yet, she wanted to know how far her mother would go. Would she ever be able to dissuade her mother from this path?
