Over the past four years, Daenys has trained in various forms of swordsmanship, archery and the use of daggers. For her 10 years, she was already well versed in the history of Westeros and all its houses. Training with her two dragons and Shadow deepened the bond between the four of them. Over the last four years, Shadow has learnt how to approach his opponents from the shadows and is now a little smaller than a horse. Silverwing has also grown over the last four years. Meraxes did not really grow, if only minimally.

Unfortunately, Lord Rickon Stark died three years ago and was succeeded by his son. Due to Cregan's young age, his uncle Bennard took on the role of regent. Now Cregan is old enough to fulfil his role as Lord of Winterfell, but Bennard does not want to give up his title. The atmosphere has been more than just tense ever since.

'Daenys, can you do me a favour?' 'Of course, Cregan, what is it?' 'Down in the crypt, there should be some kind of scroll near Walton Stark's tomb. Can you sneak into the crypt and get the scroll? We'll meet up near Meraxes and Silverwing.' 'I can manage that. Shadow will follow me. But I'm going to need some kind of distraction, Cregan.' 'That's already taken care of.'

With that, Daenys headed in the direction of the entrance to the crypt. Shadow followed her in the shadows, because if someone were to come after her, they wouldn't see Shadow coming. Just before she reached the entrance, the distraction Cregan was talking about struck. Daenys took advantage of this moment and slipped into the crypt. With quick steps, she headed towards Walton Stark's tomb and began to search for the scroll.

'Damn it, where is that scroll?' Frustrated and aware of the potential danger lurking outside, Daenys continued her search. Just before she was about to give up and get out of the crypt, she found the scroll Cregan needed. With the scroll in hand, Daenys ran as quickly as possible to the exit of the crypt and carefully opened the door to see if anyone would spot her. Once she was sure that no one had noticed anything, she slipped out of the crypt and made her way to her dragons, where Cregan was waiting for her.

'Did you find the scroll?' 'Yes. Here. It was a bit better hidden than I thought. What do you need it for?' Cregan took the scroll in his hands and opened it.

'This scroll... My father had all the sworn houses under House Stark sign this document as a sign of loyalty to him and me. When I am ready and have the resources to overthrow my uncle, this scroll will hopefully help me.' 'That's a good idea. You know you can always count on me and my dragons?' 'I know, Eny, and I'm more than happy to have you by my side. My father told me when Nora arrived here with you that I should protect you. I was hooked and promised to be the best big brother for you. Ten years have passed since then, and you have grown stronger and stronger. I don't want to be your opponent in a fight. You have learnt so much. You will be a great queen one day and I look forward to the day when we sit opposite each other in a boring council meeting.' They both laughed heartily in response, but also realised that nothing would be easy. With Bennard as regent of Winterfell and the strife within Daeny's family.

'Cregan, no matter what happens, we can do this. I'll be with you until Winterfell belongs to its rightful lord.' 'Sometimes you don't sound like 10. We'll get there, but it will take time!' At that moment, an unspoken oath was exchanged between the two, which neither would ever break.

There has never lived a Stark who forgot an oath. Daenys may be a Targaryen, but she grew up surrounded by House Stark and would never forget an oath either.

'Daenys, today is the day. Are you ready?' 'I am ready. As we discussed, I will go to the training ground with Ser Flint and a few other knights, and as soon as Nora walks down the stairs, we will take Bennard's sons into custody and bring them to the cells.' 'Be careful, though.'

Daenys, Ser Flint and a few other knights who were on Cregan Stark's side walked to the training ground where Bennard's three sons were training.

Waiting for the signal, Daenys and Ser Flint stood in front of the bow stand and talked about different training methods to avoid arousing suspicion. And then the signal, Nora Stark walked down the stairs and nodded in Daeny's direction. Then everything happened very quickly. Daeny and Ser Flint signalled to the others that it was time and headed for the centre of the training ground themselves. The rest of the knights grabbed Benjen, Brandon and Elric Stark.

'Take them to the cells. Their father will soon be there too.' With these words from Daenys, the knights took the three boys with them and brought them to the cells. Sometime later, Cregan approached Daenys.

'It is done. Now I am Lord of Winterfell. Thank you Daenys for your support. Would you accompany me to Castle Black tomorrow?' 'Lord of Winterfell. You have earned the right to finally exercise your birthright. I will gladly come with you to Castle Black. Ever since I've been here in Winterfell, I've always wanted to see the Wall.' The two friends went their separate ways for now.

Daenys headed to her room and wrote a letter to her mother to tell her about what had happened.

In the last few years, her grandmother Rhaenys and her father Daemon Targaryen often came to visit her with their dragons. Caraxes, Daemon's dragon, was rather sceptical when he first came to Winterfell and saw the Silver Duo, but this soon changed.

Daenys also found out that Daemon was her biological father and he willingly told her about what happened and the arrangement between him and Leanor. They hit it off straight away and Daemon used his time with Daenys to train her.

Daemon named her before he left: Daenys the Silver Dragon of the North.
