Dai was bubbling with excitement as he walked through the bustling courtyard of the University of Tokyo with his friend Hana. The air was alive with the buzz of students exploring the various club booths, eager to find their place in the university’s vibrant extracurricular scene.

“Let’s start with the drama club,” Hana suggested, pointing towards a booth adorned with vibrant posters and theatrical masks.

The drama club booth was a sight to behold. Colorful banners and posters depicting various past performances adorned the area. The club members, dressed in costumes from different eras and genres, mingled with the students, inviting them to join. A small stage had been set up where a few club members performed a lively skit, drawing in a crowd.

“Welcome! Are you interested in drama?” a cheerful club member named Yuki asked, handing them a pamphlet.

“Yeah, it looks really fun!” Dai said, his eyes wide with interest.

“Great! We have weekly rehearsals and several productions throughout the year. You’ll get to act, direct, and even help with stage design if you’re interested,” Yuki explained enthusiastically.

Hana was equally intrigued. “This sounds amazing. We’ll definitely think about it,” she said, smiling.

As they chatted with Yuki, Dai suddenly heard the strumming of a guitar, the melody clear and captivating. The sound was coming from a nearby booth.

“Do you hear that?” Dai asked, turning towards the source of the music.

Hana nodded. “Let’s check it out.”

They walked towards the music club booth, following the enchanting melody. The booth was surrounded by a large crowd, all drawn by the beautiful music. Dai pushed his way to the front, eager to see who was playing.

At the center of the attention was a handsome young man, completely absorbed in his performance. His fingers danced over the strings of his guitar with precision and passion, creating a melody that resonated deeply with everyone who listened.

Mei, the president of the music club, stepped forward with a bright smile. “Thank you for listening, everyone! This is Shun Nakanishi, our incredibly talented vice president.”

Dai’s heart skipped a beat as he watched Shun play. The music, combined with Shun’s focused expression, was mesmerizing. He knew instantly that he wanted to be a part of this club.

After the performance, Mei and Shun began distributing sign-up forms. Shun greeted each new member personally, his demeanor calm and composed.

When it was Dai’s turn, Shun handed him a form, their eyes meeting briefly. “I’m Shun Nakanishi, vice president of the club.”

Dai felt a jolt of excitement. “I’m Dai Nakai. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Talking to Shun, Dai felt a flutter in his heart. “Oh man, he’s so cool. I want to get to know him more,” he thought to himself.

Mei then addressed the crowd of new members. “We are thrilled to have so many students joining our club. I hope we all enjoy our time here and get to know each other better. We’ll soon form a group and let you know the schedules.”

She turned to Shun, “Shun, would you like to say a few words?”

Shun nodded, his voice steady and sincere. “Music is a universal language that connects us all. In this club, we aim to create, collaborate, and share our passion for music. I’m looking forward to working with each of you and seeing what we can achieve together.”

Dai felt a surge of happiness at Shun’s words. There was something in the way Shun spoke, with such conviction and warmth, that made him feel like he had found the right place.

As the day turned to evening, Dai headed home, his mind filled with thoughts of Shun. He couldn’t shake the feeling that joining the music club was going to be the start of something special.

At home, Dai’s family gathered around the dinner table, eager to hear about his first day.

“So, how was it?” Keiko asked, serving dinner.

“It was amazing! I signed up for the music club. There’s this guy, Shun, he’s the vice president, and he’s incredible,” Dai said, his excitement evident.

“Sounds like you had a great start,” Haruto said, smiling. “I’m glad you’re finding your way.”

“Yeah, it’s just the beginning, but I feel really good about it,” Dai replied, feeling a warmth in his heart as he thought about Shun’s music.

Meanwhile, Shun walked home to his small apartment. The solitude was comforting, but there was no one waiting for him. He entered, freshened up, and sat down to work on the lyrics of a new song he had been working on.

The melodies and words flowed easily as he poured his thoughts into the music. Despite the loneliness, there was a sense of peace in his routine. Shun found solace in his music, focusing on the task at hand and the promise of new beginnings.
