As evening descended, the sky transformed into a canvas of deep blues and purples, the last rays of the sun melting into the horizon. A gentle breeze carried the salty scent of the sea, and the sound of waves crashing against the shore created a soothing backdrop. The members of the music club gathered around a crackling campfire, its warm glow casting dancing shadows on their faces. They sat in a circle, the light flickering on their excited and expectant expressions.
Mei stood up, holding a jar filled with folded slips of paper. "Let's start our game!" she announced, her voice bright with enthusiasm. "We'll draw random challenges from this jar. I'll go first."
She reached in, drew a slip, and read it aloud. "I have to imitate a chicken for one minute." Laughter erupted around the circle as Mei began clucking and flapping her arms, her exaggerated movements drawing cheers and applause.
Next, it was Shun's turn. Dai watched with eager anticipation as Shun reached into the jar. Shun unfolded his slip and read, "Sing a song."
Shun cleared his throat and began to sing. His voice was rich and soothing, weaving a spell over the group. The melody flowed effortlessly, each note perfectly placed. Dai felt a warmth spread through him, thinking he could listen to Shun sing forever. When Shun finished, the group erupted into applause, thoroughly captivated by his performance.
Dai's turn came next. He picked a slip and read, "Anyone from the group can ask you two personal questions."
A girl named Yuki spoke first. "Are you single?"
Dai nodded, "Yes."
Several girls exchanged happy glances. Another girl, Emi, asked, "Do you have anyone you like?"
Dai's eyes drifted to Shun, who was already looking at him. "Yes, I do," he said, his voice soft but clear. The smile on Emi's face faded slightly, but she managed to maintain her composure. "Who is it, and how did you meet?"
Dai smiled, "Well, my two questions are over." He sat down, leaving the girls a little disappointed but curious.
Kenji's turn came next. He picked a slip and read, "Kiss the person on your right." He looked to see Dai beside him. Leaning over, he gave a light kiss on Dai's cheek. Laughter and applause filled the air. Dai barely had time to process what had happened before it was over.
Shun felt a knot tighten in his stomach. Uncomfortable, he quietly excused himself and left the circle.
Kenji turned to Dai, "Sorry about that."
Dai smiled, "It's fine."
Noticing Shun's absence, Dai stood up and left to find him. He searched the beach and the hotel grounds but couldn't find Shun anywhere. Finally, he decided to check Shun's room. He knocked on the door, and Shun opened it.
"Can I come in?" Dai asked.
Shun nodded, stepping aside to let Dai enter.
"Why did you leave earlier? Are you okay?" Dai asked, concern evident in his voice.
Shun sighed, "I'm fine."
Dai stood to leave, "That's good then."
"Wait," Shun called out. "I have something to tell you."
Dai turned, "What is it?"
Shun looked at him, his eyes serious. "Do you still have feelings for me?"
Dai answered without hesitation, "Yes."
Shun took a deep breath, "These days, I've been feeling confused. I couldn't figure out my feelings."
Dai, flustered but eager, listened intently.
"I'm not sure if I truly like you or if it's just an impulse," Shun continued.
Dai took a step closer, "Then why don't you figure it out?"
Shun looked at him, his gaze intense. "I need your help for that."
Dai nodded, "How can I help you?"
Shun moved closer, their faces almost touching. He leaned in and kissed Dai. It was a deep, tender kiss, filled with unspoken emotions and a longing that neither of them could deny. Dai was surprised at first but quickly melted into the kiss, his hands gently cupping Shun's face.
The kiss was like an intricate dance, each movement slow and deliberate, an expression of everything they hadn't said. Shun's lips moved against Dai's with a softness that felt almost reverent, as if he were savoring every second. Dai responded with equal tenderness, his heart pounding in his chest. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them in a bubble of warmth and light.
When they finally pulled apart, their foreheads rested against each other, both breathing heavily. Shun's eyes searched Dai's, looking for an answer.
"I think I'm starting to understand," Shun whispered.
Dai smiled softly, "Take all the time you need. I'm here."
