The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow on the sleeping figures tangled together in bed. Dai and Shun lay in each other’s arms, completely at peace, until a loud knock on the door broke the silence.
Dai groaned, slowly opening his eyes to the persistent knocking. He glanced down at Shun, who was still fast asleep, his face calm and serene. A tired smile tugged at the corners of Dai’s lips as he gently pulled the blanket up to cover Shun properly. After last night, Shun deserved the extra rest. Dai himself, however, felt lifeless—his body heavy with exhaustion from their wild night.
Dragging himself out of bed, Dai made his way to the door, barely able to keep his eyes open. As he unlocked it and pulled it open, he was surprised to see Hana standing there.
“Dai,” she began, looking uncertain. “I’m sorry about yesterday. I wasn’t in my right mind.”
Dai sighed, rubbing his eyes. “It’s good that you know,” he said, his voice lacking its usual warmth. He felt too tired for pleasantries, and the memory of yesterday was still fresh.
Hana shifted uncomfortably, her gaze lingering on Dai’s disheveled appearance. His lips looked slightly bruised, and there were faint hickeys scattered across his neck. It didn’t take much to figure out what had happened last night.
“Are you okay?” she asked hesitantly, her eyes narrowing slightly. “You look like you didn’t get enough sleep.”
Dai smirked faintly, his usual cheekiness returning for just a moment. “My boyfriend went a little wild last night.”
Hana’s eyes widened in surprise, but before she could respond, Shun’s voice called from inside, “Dai, who’s that?”
Dai turned back to Hana with a raised eyebrow. “If you have nothing more to say, then bye.” Without waiting for a response, he closed the door in her face, feeling a strange satisfaction as he turned away.
He returned to bed, climbing back under the covers and snuggling beside Shun, who was beginning to stir. Shun blinked his eyes open, still half-asleep.
“Who was that?” he mumbled, his voice groggy.
“Nothing important,” Dai replied, pulling Shun closer. “Let’s sleep a bit more. I didn’t get enough rest, thanks to someone. My body feels sore.”
A playful smile formed on Shun’s lips, and he moved in closer, nestling himself in Dai’s arms. The warmth between them was comforting, and soon they both drifted back to sleep, content in each other’s embrace.
Just as they were settling into a peaceful slumber, Shun’s phone buzzed on the bedside table. Shun groaned and reached for it, barely lifting his head from the pillow. “Good morning, Mom,” he muttered sleepily.
“Good morning, Shun,” Keiko’s cheerful voice came through the phone. “Aren’t you and Dai coming down for breakfast?”
Shun glanced over at Dai, who was still half-asleep. “Do you want to have breakfast?” he asked softly.
Dai groaned, burying his face into the pillow. “Nope. I wanna sleep some more.”
Shun smiled. “Mom, we’ll skip breakfast. You guys go on without us.”
Keiko laughed. “Alright, dear. You two rest up.”
They both slept soundly until the afternoon, lazily waking up to the soft light of the day. Shun was the first to freshen up, and while Dai showered, Shun busied himself in the room. When Dai emerged from the bathroom, a towel wrapped loosely around his waist, his wet hair sticking to his forehead, Shun couldn’t help but smile.
