As the cars pulled into the driveway of the resort, the sun was already beginning to set, casting a warm, golden glow over the entire landscape. The resort, nestled in the midst of towering trees and rolling hills, looked like something out of a dream, its stone pathways leading to cozy cottages and quaint little rooms that promised comfort and tranquility.

Dai carefully parked the car and turned to look at Shun, who was still sleeping soundly beside him. His heart swelled with affection as he gazed at Shun’s peaceful face, the way his lashes rested gently against his cheeks, and the slight parting of his lips as he breathed softly. He could watch him like this forever, so serene and vulnerable, his usual guarded expression replaced by the innocence of sleep.

Yumi, who had already stepped out of the car with Hana, leaned back in. "We’ll go ahead and check in. You take your time waking up Sleeping Beauty over there," she teased with a wink.

Dai chuckled and nodded. "We’ll be right behind you," he assured her.

As Yumi and Hana made their way toward the reception, Dai turned his attention back to Shun. Leaning in close, he whispered softly, his voice a gentle caress. "Baby, wake up… We’ve arrived."

Shun stirred slightly, his eyes fluttering open as he slowly returned to consciousness. He looked around, a little dazed, before his gaze settled on Dai. "We arrived?" he mumbled sleepily, rubbing his eyes. "Did I sleep all the way?"

Dai smiled warmly, his heart melting at how endearing Shun looked. "You did," he confirmed, leaning in to press a soft kiss to Shun’s lips. "And you were absolutely adorable."

Shun’s cheeks flushed a little as he smiled shyly. "Am I?" he asked, his voice still laced with sleep.

Dai couldn’t resist the urge to kiss him again, this time letting his lips linger a bit longer. "You are," he murmured against Shun’s lips, before pulling back slightly. "Come on, let’s go inside."

Together, they stepped out of the car and joined the others, making their way to the reception area. The resort had a rustic charm to it, with wooden beams and large windows that offered breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. The reception area was cozy, with a crackling fireplace and plush sofas that looked inviting after the long drive.

As they reached the front desk, Dai took the lead, asking the receptionist, "Hi, we’d like to book four rooms, and one more room with a very nice view."

The receptionist, a young woman with a curious glint in her eye, glanced at the group, her gaze lingering on Hana, who was standing beside Dai. With a friendly smile, she asked, "Is the room with the view for you and your girlfriend?" She nodded toward Hana as she spoke.

Dai blinked in surprise, then quickly shook his head with a chuckle. "Oh, no, it’s not for us." He immediately reached over and pulled Shun into a tight side hug, his arm wrapping protectively around his waist. "It’s for us," he clarified, his voice filled with pride and affection. "He’s my boyfriend. Isn’t he cute?"

The receptionist’s eyes widened in pleasant surprise, her smile growing warmer. "He is," she agreed, looking between Dai and Shun. "And so are you."

"Thank you," Dai replied, his smile broadening as he glanced down at Shun, who was looking up at him with a mix of shyness and happiness.

Meanwhile, Hana stood there, feeling an unexpected twist in her chest. The receptionist’s mistake had caught her off guard, making her realize just how much had changed since the days when she and Dai were together. Watching Dai now, so openly affectionate with Shun, brought a pang of regret. She hadn’t anticipated feeling this way, hadn’t expected the wave of emotions that now threatened to overwhelm her. It wasn’t just about jealousy or longing; it was the bittersweet recognition that Dai had moved on, found someone who made him happier than she ever had.
