The air was filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the soft chatter of other guests. They settled around a large table, the comfortable camaraderie making even the simplest meal feel special.
As they ate, one of their friends, Akira, suddenly perked up. "Hey, I heard there's going to be a concert tonight near the beach!"
Everyone's eyes widened with excitement. "A concert? Really?" Mei exclaimed, practically bouncing in her seat.
"Yeah," Akira nodded. "It's supposed to be really good, with local bands and some surprise acts. It's going to be right on the sand under the stars."
Kenji's face lit up with pure joy. "That sounds amazing! We have to go! Imagine the music, the ocean breeze, the lights-oh, it's going to be epic!"
Dai grinned at Kenji's enthusiasm. "You're already imagining yourself dancing, aren't you?"
Kenji laughed. "Maybe! But seriously, it's going to be so much fun. We can't miss it!"
The others quickly agreed, their excitement palpable as they discussed what they might wear and which songs they hoped to hear. Kenji's playful nature added a layer of humor to the conversation, his exaggerated excitement making everyone laugh.
"You know, Kenji," Akira teased, "I think you're more excited about the concert than you were about breakfast!"
"Who needs food when you have music?" Kenji shot back, earning a chorus of laughter from the group.
As the breakfast continued, their excitement only grew. They decided to meet up in the evening and head to the beach together, eager to enjoy the concert as a group. After finishing their meal, Kenji, Dai, Shun, and a few of their friends returned to their rooms to grab their stuff.
Shun went ahead while Kenji and Dai walked together. Dai rubbed his stomach and said, "Wasn't the food earlier a bit spicy? I didn't feel it at first, but I'm definitely feeling it now."
Kenji chuckled. "You're just realizing that now? Maybe your taste buds are slow."
Dai laughed. "Maybe! But seriously, I could use something sweet to balance it out."
Kenji grinned and reached into his pocket. "You want some candy?"
"That would be better," Dai replied, intrigued.
Kenji pulled out a small piece of candy and handed it to Dai. "Here you go."
Dai took the candy and asked, "Why do you carry candy with you?"
Kenji shrugged. "When I was young, I didn't get to eat a lot of candy because of cavities. My mom was really strict about it. So, to make up for it, I always carry candies with me now. I eat them whenever I want."
Dai smiled warmly, touched by Kenji's story. "That's kind of cute. It's like you're making up for lost time."
Kenji beamed. "Exactly! Life's too short not to enjoy a little sweetness, right?"
Dai nodded, taking two pieces of candy. "Thanks, Kenji. You always manage to make things better."
Kenji smirked playfully. "Couldn't even part with your boyfriend for a moment, huh?" When saw Dai heading towards Shun's room.
Dai laughed. "Something like that." He popped the candy into his mouth and headed to Shun's room, where he found Shun waiting for him.
As Dai entered, Shun noticed him chewing something. "What are you eating?"
"A candy," Dai replied casually.
"Can I get one too?" Shun asked.
Dai searched his pockets, only to realize he'd already eaten both candies. "Oh, I ate them," he admitted, feeling a bit sheepish.
