Dai woke up early, brimming with excitement. He rummaged through his closet, trying on various outfits until he found the perfect one: a crisp white shirt, dark jeans, and a light blue jacket. After checking his reflection multiple times, he finally felt ready. He messaged Shun, asking if he was prepared for their outing.
Shun replied that he would be ready in 15 minutes. Dai quickly got into his car and drove to Shun's apartment, waiting eagerly. Shun came down dressed in a cozy, casual outfit. Dai opened the door for him, and Shun got into the car.
On the way, Dai asked, "How's the song you're working on coming along?"
Shun replied, "I'm about to complete it."
Dai smiled. "I can't wait to listen to it."
They arrived at the cafe, parked the car, and stepped inside. The cafe had a warm, inviting ambiance with wooden furniture, soft lighting, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. The walls were adorned with pictures of famous musicians, giving it a cozy, artistic vibe.
Dai asked Shun, "What would you like to have?"
Shun glanced at the menu and said, "I'll have a caramel latte."
Dai nodded and ordered a cappuccino for himself. They took their drinks to a table near the window.
As they sipped their drinks, Dai mustered up the courage and asked, "Senior, do you have someone you like?"
Shun looked surprised. "Nope."
Dai took a deep breath. "Well, I think I like you, Senior."
Shun's eyes widened in surprise. Dai continued, "I fell for you when I first saw you playing guitar on my first day. Since then, I've been figuring out my feelings, and I finally realized that I like you. I'm not asking you to like me back. I just wanted you to know how I truly feel, and I don't want you to feel burdened by this."
Shun, after a moment of silence, said, "I'm actually not interested in dating anyone right now, but thank you for sharing your feelings with me."
Dai already expected that this would be the outcome of his confession but when he heard Shun saying it, he felt upset.
After finishing their drinks, they left the cafe. They didn't talk at all on their way. The car was filled with silence. Dai dropped Shun off and went home, feeling a mixture of relief and sadness. He was happy to have expressed his feelings but couldn't help but feel the sting of Shun's words.
The next day, Dai woke up late and hurried to Shun's apartment, only to find that Shun had already left. He messaged Shun, who replied, "I have something to do, I already left." Dai felt a pang of sadness, sensing that Shun was avoiding him.
At college, he tried to find Shun but had to attend his classes. During lectures, he couldn't stop thinking about how Shun had left early. In the music club, Shun kept himself busy with others, avoiding Dai's attempts to talk.
In the evening, Dai waited at the entrance, hoping to catch Shun. When Shun walked past with his friends, Dai called him. Shun answered, "I'm having dinner with my friends, you go ahead." Dai felt hurt, realizing Shun was intentionally avoiding him.
Feeling down, Dai went to Taehoon's restaurant and confided in him about his confession. Taehoon smiled gently and said, "Shun is someone who values peace. It's only been a few weeks since you met, and you already confessed. What did you expect? Shun is hurt from his past relationships. He needs time. Just be there for him and be your true self. It may take time, but I think Shun likes you too. I've never seen him hang out with people; you're the only one he's been spending time with. He's afraid to open his heart, thinking he might get hurt again. So, all you need to do is wait and have faith in him." He said, " I am really happy to know how you feel about Shun."
Dai listened carefully, feeling a sense of hope. He thanked Taehoon for his advice. On his way home, he thought to himself, "Now I know what Senior thinks. I'm just going to wait for him."
