As the day came to a close and classes wrapped up, Dai and Shun found themselves walking side by side to the parking lot. The familiar rhythm of their footsteps in sync, the subtle brush of their arms as they walked—everything felt natural, like they were always meant to be this close. Shun glanced at Dai with a soft smile, the simple pleasure of being together filling him with warmth.

The drive from the college to Shun’s apartment was quiet at first, filled with the kind of comfortable silence that only comes from deep familiarity. The sun was starting to dip low in the sky, casting a golden hue over the city. Dai’s hands rested easily on the steering wheel, his mind turning over thoughts that had been with him for days.

After a few minutes, Dai broke the silence, his voice gentle but carrying a weight of something more. “Shun, there’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately,” Dai began, his eyes focused on the road ahead, though his mind was entirely on Shun.

Shun turned to look at him, curious. “What is it?” he asked, his tone light but laced with curiosity.

Dai hesitated for a moment, gathering his thoughts. “I want to hear your thoughts on this first,” he said, glancing briefly at Shun before returning his eyes to the road. “I’ve been thinking… I want to move in with you.”

The words hung in the air between them, charged with meaning. Shun’s breath caught in his throat, his heart suddenly racing. “What did you say?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper, as if he wasn’t sure he’d heard correctly.

Dai glanced at Shun again, his expression serious but warm. “I said I want to move in with you.”

Shun’s mind spun, a mix of emotions flooding him all at once—surprise, joy, a hint of disbelief. Without a word, he reached over and placed a hand on Dai’s arm. “Stop the car,” Shun said, his voice steady but urgent.

Dai was taken aback. “What?” he asked, unsure of what Shun was thinking.

“Stop the car,” Shun repeated, his hand still on Dai’s arm, and this time Dai obeyed, pulling over to the side of the road. The car came to a gentle stop, and before Dai could say anything, Shun was unbuckling his seatbelt. He moved closer to Dai, his heart beating fast, and wrapped his arms tightly around him.

Dai was momentarily surprised, but he quickly relaxed into Shun’s embrace, feeling the intensity of Shun’s emotions. Shun’s voice was muffled against Dai’s shoulder as he spoke, but the emotion was clear. “I’ve been thinking the same thing,” Shun confessed, his voice trembling slightly with emotion. “But I didn’t have the courage to ask. I really want to live with you too. I want to have breakfast together, sleep together, and wake up in your embrace every morning.”

Dai felt his heart swell with affection, his arms tightening around Shun in response. He placed a tender kiss on the top of Shun’s head, inhaling the familiar scent that had become so comforting to him. “I’m so glad to hear that,” Dai whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “I couldn’t imagine anything better than waking up next to you every day.”

They stayed like that for a while, holding each other close, letting the enormity of what they had just decided sink in. It wasn’t just about moving in together; it was about the future they were choosing to share, the life they were beginning to build together.

Eventually, Dai gently pulled back, just enough to look into Shun’s eyes. “Ready to go home?” he asked softly, his voice filled with affection.

Shun nodded, a smile spreading across his face. “Yeah, let’s go home,” he said, his voice filled with warmth.

Dai started the car again, the drive now filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation. When they reached Shun’s apartment, Dai leaned over and gave Shun a lingering goodnight kiss. “See you tomorrow,” Dai whispered against Shun’s lips before pulling away.

“See you tomorrow,” Shun echoed, his heart full as he watched Dai drive away.

That night, over dinner, Dai discussed his decision with his family. The atmosphere at the table was warm, as it usually was, filled with the familiar sounds of laughter and conversation. When Dai mentioned that he wanted to move in with Shun, the room grew quiet for a moment, everyone absorbing the news.

His mother was the first to speak, a gentle smile on her face. “If that’s what makes you happy, Dai, then we’re okay with it,” she said, her voice warm and reassuring. “We just want you to be happy.”

Dai’s father nodded in agreement. “But make sure you two visit us frequently,” he added, his tone light but with an underlying note of sincerity. “You can always stay here when you miss us.”

Dai felt a wave of gratitude wash over him. “Thank you,” he said, his voice full of emotion. “I will, I promise."

His sister, who had been quietly listening, smiled brightly. “I’m really happy for you, Dai."

His brother says, "you are totally go for it. I'm happy for you,"

The rest of the dinner was filled with warmth and love. Dai felt a deep sense of contentment, knowing that his family supported his decision and that he was about to take a big step forward with Shun.

The next morning, Dai woke up early, excitement buzzing in his veins. He packed his luggage, making sure to include everything he would need. As he stood in his room for what might be the last time for a while, he took a deep breath, feeling a mix of emotions—excitement, a hint of nervousness, but most of all, a deep sense of love and anticipation.

When Dai arrived at Shun’s apartment, he quietly let himself in, the sound of his luggage wheels the only noise breaking the morning stillness. He walked into Shun’s bedroom to find him still sleeping, his face peaceful and relaxed. Dai couldn’t help but smile at the sight.

Rather than waking Shun immediately, Dai began unpacking his things. He moved quietly around the room, placing his clothes in the closet, his toiletries in the bathroom, and his other belongings around the apartment. It was a strange but wonderful feeling, like he was carving out a new space for himself in Shun’s life, and it made him feel closer to Shun than ever before.

As Dai was putting the last of his things away, Shun began to stir. He blinked sleepily, his eyes adjusting to the morning light before he noticed Dai. “When did you get here?” Shun asked, his voice still thick with sleep.

Dai smiled and walked over to the bed, leaning down to kiss Shun on the cheek. “Just now,” he said softly. “I was unpacking my stuff.”

Shun’s brow furrowed in confusion. “What stuff?”

Dai chuckled and sat down on the edge of the bed. “Didn’t I say I wanted to move in with you? So, I brought my stuff.”

Shun blinked in surprise, his sleep-addled mind catching up to what Dai was saying. “Didn’t we just discuss that yesterday?” he asked, still trying to wrap his head around the idea.

Dai smiled, a playful glint in his eyes. “I couldn’t wait,” he admitted as he climbed onto the bed, wrapping his arms around Shun and rolling them both onto their sides. “I couldn’t get to sleep at all thinking about moving in with you. I just wanted to be here.”

Shun laughed softly, his heart swelling with affection. “Fine,” he said, pulling Dai closer and feeling the warmth of his body against his own. Dai’s head rested on Shun’s chest, his arms wrapped securely around Shun’s waist. “You’re really something, you know that?”

Dai didn’t respond with words, instead letting out a contented sigh as he snuggled closer. Shun’s heart melted at the sight of Dai, who looked so at peace, so at home in his arms. He couldn’t help but think about how lucky he was to have someone like Dai in his life—someone who was so loving, so caring, and so deeply committed to making their relationship work.

As Shun looked down at Dai, who was already starting to drift off to sleep, he couldn’t help but smile. “Why are you so cute ?” he whispered to himself, his voice full of wonder and affection.

He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on Dai’s forehead, the gesture filled with all the love and gratitude he felt in his heart. “I love you,” Shun whispered, though he wasn’t sure if Dai could hear him in his half-asleep state.

But even if Dai didn’t respond, Shun knew he felt the same. The warmth of Dai’s embrace, the steady rhythm of his breathing against Shun’s chest—it was all the reassurance Shun needed.
