Shun woke up with a warm, fluttering sensation in his chest. The thought of meeting Dai’s family today filled him with a mix of excitement and nerves, but the dominant feeling was one of quiet happiness. As he stirred, his gaze fell on Dai, who was still peacefully sleeping beside him. Shun couldn’t help but smile at the sight—Dai looked so serene, his features soft in the morning light.

Careful not to wake him, Shun reached over and gently adjusted the blanket, tucking it around Dai’s shoulders. He then slipped out of bed and headed to the bathroom to freshen up, his thoughts already racing with anticipation for the day ahead.

After his shower, Shun returned to the bedroom, toweling off his hair. To his amusement, he found that Dai was still fast asleep, sprawled comfortably under the covers. Shun couldn’t resist the playful urge that bubbled up inside him. Quietly, he crept closer to the bed, then leaned over and shook his wet hair, letting the cool water droplets fall onto Dai’s face.

Dai’s nose twitched at the sensation, and his eyes fluttered open, a sleepy frown creasing his brow. “Mmm… Shun,” he murmured, half-awake.

Shun grinned down at him, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “We have to get up and buy gifts, remember? Come on, Dai, get up!”

Dai groaned, rolling onto his side and pulling the blanket over his head. “I wanna sleep some more,” he mumbled, his voice muffled by the covers.

But Shun wasn’t having it. With a firm tug, he pulled the blanket off Dai and began to drag him out of bed. “Get uuuuuuuppp!” he insisted, laughing as Dai reluctantly sat up, rubbing his eyes.

“Alright, alright,” Dai grumbled good-naturedly as he got to his feet, still half-asleep. “I’m up, I’m up…”

Shun chuckled, watching fondly as Dai shuffled to the bathroom. He then made his way to the kitchen, deciding to prepare breakfast while Dai freshened up.

As Shun busied himself in the kitchen, the sound of soft footsteps approached. He didn’t turn around, but he could sense Dai’s presence behind him. A moment later, Dai’s arms wrapped around his waist, pulling him into a warm embrace. Dai rested his head on Shun’s shoulder, his breath tickling Shun’s neck.

Shun smiled, feeling a rush of warmth flood his chest. “What are you making?” Dai murmured against his shoulder, his voice still thick with sleep.

“Just something simple,” Shun replied, his hands continuing to work as he cracked eggs into a bowl. “Scrambled eggs with toast.”

Dai hummed in approval, nuzzling into the crook of Shun’s neck. “Sounds good.”

Shun turned slightly to glance at Dai, and a small laugh escaped him when he noticed what Dai was wearing. “Are those… my clothes?”

Dai pulled back slightly, looking down at himself. The shirt and pants he had borrowed from Shun were indeed a little snug, the fabric clinging to his frame in a way that emphasized his lean muscles. “Yeah,” Dai said, a sheepish grin tugging at his lips. “They’re a bit tight, but I like them. They smell like you.”

Shun’s cheeks flushed pink at the comment, and he ducked his head to hide his smile. “How do I smell?” he asked, trying to sound casual.

Dai leaned in close, his lips brushing Shun’s ear as he whispered, “Mmm… you smell like something warm, cozy, and comforting… something that makes you long for home.”

Shun’s heart skipped a beat at Dai’s words, his blush deepening. “Where did you learn to say things like that?” he murmured, his voice betraying the flutter in his chest.

Dai chuckled softly, his breath warm against Shun’s skin. “I don’t know… I guess being around you brings it out of me.”

Shun couldn’t help the smile that spread across his face as he turned back to the stove. There was something about the way Dai spoke, the way he looked at him, that made Shun feel like he was exactly where he was meant to be.
