Shun pulled Dai into a hug, holding him tightly as if he never wanted to let go. Dai responded with equal fervor, wrapping his arms around Shun's waist, pulling him even closer. They stood there, enveloped in each other's warmth, feeling their heartbeats synchronize. The world outside seemed to disappear, leaving just the two of them in a cocoon of shared emotions.
Their breaths mingled, and the only sound was the gentle rhythm of the ocean outside their window. For a moment, they didn't speak, letting the silence express what words could not. Then, Dai's phone buzzed in his pocket, breaking the stillness. He ignored it, tightening his hold on Shun.
Shun pulled back slightly, looking up at Dai. "You're getting a call. Why don't you pick it up?"
Dai leaned in, his lips brushing Shun's ear as he whispered, "It can wait." He hugged Shun even more tightly, their bodies melding into one.
Dai pulled back just enough to look into Shun's eyes. "So, have you figured out what you feel now?"
Shun nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yes. My past relationships made me lose faith in love. Since then, I didn't open my heart to anyone. But then you came along. I never imagined I’d fall for someone again until I met you. You changed everything."
Dai's heart swelled with warmth and happiness. He felt a sense of completion he hadn't known was missing until now. "I used to think the same," Dai began, his voice soft and earnest. "I was hurt from my past relationships and thought I would just focus on my studies. But when I met you and got to know you more, I thought, it's okay to get hurt again if it's you."
Shun felt a rush of warmth spread through him, a mix of relief and joy. It was as if a heavy weight had been lifted from his chest. He moved closer to Dai, their faces just inches apart. "I promise, I won’t hurt you."
Dai felt assured, his heart pounding with a mixture of emotions. "I too won’t hurt you," he whispered. "I’ll love you so much that you won’t even remember your past relationships." As he said this, Dai placed his hands around Shun’s waist, pulling him even closer. He leaned in and kissed Shun’s forehead softly, lingering there for a moment. The kiss was tender and full of promise, a vow of love and protection.
Shun closed his eyes, feeling butterflies flutter in his stomach. Dai then moved down and kissed the tip of Shun’s nose, a light, playful kiss that made Shun's heart race. The sensation was electric, and Shun felt a rush of warmth spread through him.
Their lips were just about to touch when Dai's phone buzzed again, startling Shun. "You should pick that up," Shun said, breaking the spell.
Dai gave Shun a quick peck on the lips before answering the call. "Hello?"
It was Kenji. "Hey, Dai. When are you coming back?"
Dai glanced at Shun, who was watching him intently. "I have something to do. You go to sleep, I'll come later."
After hanging up, Shun asked, "Who was that?"
"Kenji," Dai replied. "He asked when I would come back."
Shun looked down, feeling a mix of emotions. "So, are you going to go back now?"
Dai moved closer, his voice low and gentle. "Do you want me to?"
Shun’s face took on a sulky expression, his lips forming a slight pout. "It depends on you. If you want to stay, you can. There are two beds in here, you can sleep here if you want." He sat on the bed, avoiding Dai’s eyes.
Dai chuckled softly and walked over to the other bed, sitting down. "Alright, I’ll stay."
Shun gave a small, warm smile and felt a wave of happiness wash over him. Dai’s presence was comforting, and he didn’t want to be alone. Dai said in a low, warm voice, "I don't think I'll sleep tonight."
They both lay on their beds, staring at the ceiling, lost in their thoughts. The silence between them was comfortable, filled with unspoken understanding. After a long moment, Shun shifted, sitting up. He hesitated, then got off his bed and climbed into Dai's. Dai said nothing, simply lifting the blanket to cover Shun.
"You didn’t bring your pillow?" Dai asked softly. "You can use my arm."
Dai moved his hand slowly, supporting Shun’s head. Shun rested his head on Dai's arm, feeling the warmth of his skin against his cheek. He moved closer, cuddling into Dai’s side. Dai smiled and kissed Shun on the head, whispering, "Good night."
Shun’s head was so close to Dai’s chest that he could hear the steady, comforting beat of his heart. He moved even closer, almost burying his face in Dai's chest. "Good night," he whispered back, his voice barely audible.
They lay there in silence, their bodies pressed close, feeling the warmth and comfort of each other’s presence. Shun felt safe and content, his earlier doubts and fears melting away. Dai’s heartbeat was a soothing lullaby, and he felt a sense of peace he hadn’t known in a long time. Dai’s arm around him was a promise of protection and love, and Shun knew that whatever happened, they would face it together.
Dai, too, felt a deep sense of contentment. Holding Shun close, he realized how much he had come to care for him. The past didn’t matter anymore; what mattered was the future they could build together. He tightened his hold on Shun, feeling a wave of love wash over him. This was where he belonged, and he wouldn’t trade it for anything.
As the night deepened, they both drifted into a peaceful sleep, their hearts beating in unison, their dreams filled with the promise of a new beginning.
