Dai woke up very early, the first light of dawn creeping through the curtains. He blinked groggily, taking a moment to orient himself. As his eyes adjusted, he realized where he was and remembered the events of the previous night. He turned his head slightly and saw Shun sleeping peacefully beside him, his chest rising and falling with each breath. It wasn’t a dream. A smile spread across Dai’s face as he gently moved the hair covering Shun’s forehead and placed a soft kiss there.
The touch of Dai’s lips stirred Shun, who opened his eyes slowly. "Sorry for waking you up," Dai whispered, then leaned in to place a light kiss on Shun’s lips. "Go back to sleep."
Shun smiled sleepily and cuddled closer to Dai, his head resting on Dai's chest. "Okay," he mumbled, drifting back into slumber.
Dai watched him for a while, savoring the warmth of Shun’s body against his. He could feel Shun's breath on his skin, a gentle reminder of the reality of their closeness. Eventually, Dai carefully extricated himself, leaving a pillow in his place for Shun to hold. He dressed quietly and slipped out of the room, taking Shun’s keys with him.
After getting ready in his own room, Dai found Kenji just waking up. "When did you get back?" Kenji asked, rubbing his eyes.
Dai smiled to himself. "I got back when you were asleep."
Kenji frowned, not quite understanding. "Why are you up so early?"
"I'm going to get breakfast," Dai replied, unable to hide his excitement.
Kenji grunted, "Oh," and then promptly went back to sleep. Dai chuckled and left the room, heading downstairs to order breakfast. He decided on a selection of croissants, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, and orange juice, knowing Shun liked a variety. He added a couple of coffees to the order and waited for it to be prepared.
When the breakfast was ready, Dai carried it back to Shun’s room. He unlocked the door and placed the tray on the table, hearing the sound of water running in the bathroom. He sat on the bed, waiting for Shun to finish his shower.
Shun emerged a few minutes later, his upper body naked and a towel wrapped around his waist. His skin glistened with droplets of water, and his hair was damp, falling into his eyes. Dai’s breath caught in his throat as he watched a bead of water slide down Shun’s neck, across his collarbone, and disappear.
Shun noticed Dai and jumped slightly. "When did you get here?" he asked, his voice still a bit sleepy.
Dai, lost in Shun’s beauty, took a moment to respond. "Just now," he said, standing up and moving closer. He wrapped his arms around Shun’s waist, pulling him close until their bodies were almost touching. "Do you know how beautiful you are? I can’t control myself," Dai murmured. "Can I kiss you?"
Shun brought his face closer to Dai’s ear and whispered, "You can." Then he bit Dai's ear lightly, teasingly.
Dai let out a light "Ouch," then tightened his grip around Shun’s waist. He kissed Shun's neck deeply, savoring the taste and the way Shun’s skin felt against his lips. Shun let out a soft sigh, his hands gripping Dai’s shoulders. The sensation sent shivers down Shun’s spine, filling him with a mix of pleasure and longing. He felt his body respond, his pulse quickening as Dai’s kisses became more intense, lingering on his skin.
Their moment was interrupted by a knock on the door. Shun startled, but Dai didn’t let go, continuing to kiss his neck. "Shun, are you there?" came Mei’s voice from outside.
Shun struggled to answer, his voice shaky. "I’m getting ready."
"Come down after you get ready," Mei said.
"Okay," Shun replied with difficulty. He then held Dai tightly and kissed him on the cheek. "Let me get ready."
Dai reluctantly let go. "Alright," he said, stepping back.
Shun started dressing while Dai watched from the bed. Once Shun was dressed, he checked himself in the mirror and noticed a mark on his neck. He touched it lightly and called Dai over. "Is this what I think it is?"
Dai looked at the hickey and grinned sheepishly. "It’s a hickey."
Shun laughed. "You might have left it there earlier."
Dai rubbed the back of his neck. "I think everybody will notice it. I’m sorry."
Shun smiled warmly. "It’s totally fine."
They sat down to breakfast, enjoying the food and each other’s company. After they finished, they headed downstairs together, hand in hand.
Mei and the others were waiting in the lobby. Mei noticed the mark on Shun’s neck and raised an eyebrow. "What happened to your neck?" she asked.
Shun, startled, replied, "Something bit me."
Mei frowned. "Was it a bug? It looks serious."
Shun thought to himself, "Yeah, it’s a big bug." He smiled to himself, adding, "I don’t know."
Mei seemed unconvinced but let it go. She gathered everyone together and announced, "There are many places here to visit. I want everyone to enjoy themselves."
The group dispersed, and Shun and Dai decided to explore together. They visited a beautiful garden filled with vibrant flowers and tall, ancient trees. As they walked through the paths, Dai reached out and took Shun’s hand, intertwining their fingers. Shun’s heart fluttered at the simple gesture, feeling a warmth spread through him.
Next, they found a small café with outdoor seating. They shared a large strawberry milkshake, each taking sips from separate straws but occasionally catching each other’s eyes and laughing. "This reminds me of those cheesy romantic movies," Dai said, grinning.
Shun chuckled. "Yeah, but I kind of like it."
They came across a scenic overlook that offered a breathtaking view of the ocean. They stood side by side, the wind tousling their hair, and watched the waves crash against the shore. "It’s beautiful," Shun said softly.
"Not as beautiful as you," Dai replied, his voice sincere.
Shun blushed, feeling a warmth spread through his chest. "You always know what to say."
Dai smiled, leaning in to kiss Shun’s cheek. "I mean every word."
They visited a small local market, browsing through handmade crafts and trinkets. Dai bought a small bracelet with a charm that resembled a music note and placed it on Shun’s wrist. "A little something to remember today by," he said.
Shun looked at the bracelet and then at Dai, his eyes shining. "Thank you, Dai. I’ll cherish it."
Their day was filled with laughter and joy, small touches, and meaningful glances. They took several pictures together, capturing moments of their adventure. In one, they held hands in front of the garden’s oldest tree, their smiles radiant. In another, they sipped from their milkshake, straws almost touching. Each photo was a testament to their growing bond and the happiness they found in each other’s presence.
As the sun began to set, they found a quiet spot on the beach and sat down, watching the colors of the sky change from blue to hues of orange and pink. Dai wrapped an arm around Shun’s shoulders, pulling him close.
"This has been one of the best days of my life," Shun said, resting his head on Dai’s shoulder.
"Mine too," Dai replied, kissing the top of Shun’s head. "And it’s just the beginning."
Shun smiled, feeling a sense of peace and contentment. "I’m glad we have each other."
"Me too," Dai said softly. "No matter what happens, we’ll face it together."
As the night fell, they walked back to the inn, hand in hand, their hearts full of love and hope for the future. They knew there would be challenges ahead, but they were ready to face them, together.
