Dai woke up early with excitement. He spent a lot of time choosing his outfit, finally settling on a stylish ensemble: a grey turtleneck, dark jeans, and a black leather jacket. After making sure his hair was perfectly styled, he headed out of his room.

His mom, noticing him, said, "Have breakfast before you go."

Dai replied, "I'm in a hurry."

His mom smiled and said, "Give me 2 minutes. I'll pack it for you. You can eat on your way."

Dai thought for a moment and asked, "Can you make it for two?"

She chuckled, "Sure." She quickly packed two boxes of her special pancakes, fluffy and golden with a hint of vanilla and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. She handed them to Dai, who thanked her and rushed out to his car.

Dai drove to Shun's apartment and called him, "I'm at your apartment. I know you're in there. Come down."

Shun thought to himself, "What is he up to?" He came down, and as usual, Dai opened the door for him. Shun got in the car, and Dai handed him one of the boxes.

Shun said, "I already had my breakfast."

Dai insisted, "My mom made these special pancakes. She's really good at making them."

Shun took one and tasted it. "This is really tasty. Thank your mom for me."

Dai felt content watching Shun eat. After finishing, they headed to college.

On the way, Dai said, "Senior, you don't have to avoid me. I won't force you to like me back, but we can still be how we used to be before."

Shun, surprised by his straightforwardness, replied, "Okay."

They arrived at the college. As Shun was getting out, Dai said, "I'll wait right here in the evening. Let's go back together."

Shun nodded, "Got it," and left for his class. Dai felt happy.

Before Dai could head to his class, the department head called him into his office. Inside, Dai saw a student waiting. The student was tall, with neatly styled hair, wearing glasses, and had an air of seriousness about him.

The department head introduced him, "Dai, this is Kenji Yamada, a new student in your department. He joined today due to some personal reasons. Show him the class and help him catch up with the lectures."

Dai nodded, "Okay." On their way to class, Dai said, "I'm Dai Nakai. Let's get along well," and shook Kenji's hand.

Kenji smiled slightly, "I'm Kenji Yamada. Nice to meet you."

In class, Dai introduced Kenji to his friends. They greeted him warmly.

One friend, Sora, said, "Welcome, Kenji! If you need any help, just ask us."

Kenji replied, "Thank you. I appreciate it."

During the lecture, Dai and Kenji sat together. Dai helped him catch up with the previous lectures. At lunch, they all ate together, talking about their families and lifestyles.

Kenji shared, "My family lives in Osaka. My father is a businessman, and my mother is a teacher. I have a younger sister who is still in high school."

Shun, watching from a distance, thought to himself, "He sure has a lot of friends."

After lunch, Shun went to the library to get some books. He noticed Dai sitting at a table and thought of approaching him. However, he saw Kenji sitting opposite Dai, who seemed to be explaining something to him. Shun decided not to disturb them and walked away.

Dai was explaining the previous lectures to Kenji. "This is what we covered last week. If you need any notes, I can share mine with you."

Kenji nodded, "Thanks, Dai. That would be really helpful."

They spent a lot of time in the library. When Dai looked at the time, he realized it was already five. He thought, "I hope Shun hasn't left yet." He hurriedly said to Kenji, "I have something to do. See you tomorrow."

Kenji replied, "Okay, see you tomorrow."

Downstairs, Shun was waiting near Dai's car, leaning against the door and looking at his phone.

Dai felt relieved, thinking, "Thank God, he didn't leave."

He admired Shun from a distance for a moment and thought to himself,  " how can he do nothing but still still make my heart skip a beat."

He approached Shun and said, "Sorry for the wait."

Shun replied, "That's okay." They both got into the car.

In the car, Shun was quiet. Dai started the conversation, "There's a new student in our department. I was asked to help him catch up with the lectures, so I was helping him and lost track of time. When I saw the time, I thought you would have already left. I'm really glad you didn't."

Shun replied, "Well, you told me we would go together."

Dai gave a big smile and thought to himself, "Kawaii." He said, "Thank you."

Shun asked, "What for?"

Dai said, "It's nothing."

Dai dropped Shun at his apartment and greeted him, "I'll pick you up tomorrow too."

Shun nodded, "Fine," and left.

After Shun left, Dai headed home. During dinner, his sister noticed Dai's happy face and asked, "Did something good happen today?"

Dai replied, "Yes," with a big smile. After dinner, he went to bed, unable to stop thinking about Shun waiting for him.
