There was a brief moment of confusion when everyone left, and the four of us stayed standing in the middle of the house, trying to process the half-hearted, passive-aggressive interaction we just witnessed between Sierra and Nick.

As we looked at Nick, wanting answers about the strange interaction, it was Clay who voiced the question on all of our minds. "What was that all about?"

"Way to ruin my vacation. I hate her." Nick's answer was immediate.

"Why?" And my question was even more immediate.

"Sierra..." Nick muttered, his voice becoming artistically dramatic, "She's been tormenting me since birth," he explained, collapsing onto the couch, "She's absolutely insufferable."

I was barely keeping a straight face at his choice of words and dramatic tone.

"What did she do?" I cleared my throat, hiding a laugh. George was already laughing, though, so I don't know if my efforts were even needed.

"What didn't she do?" Nick let out a huff, his arms crossed in front of his chest. "She'd steal my toys, hide them, and act like she had no idea where they went. Or she'd make fun of me for no reason, calling me short or ginger, even though she's only one and a half inches taller than me, and she's ginger," he explained, emphasizing every important detail.

George lost it completely, not even hiding his laugh like I was still desperately trying to. It was honestly baffling how Nick was still holding a grudge over something that probably happened two decades ago, and was normal sibling behavior.

"I mean she didn't lie about the short part..." George snorted.

"Shut up, man. She's a bully."

"My sister stole toys from me all the time, dude," Clay laughed, "I don't hate her, though."

We all quieted down as Nick's expression changed to something a little more serious, like he was triggered from Clay's words. He looked at the wall, his mind seemingly wandering back in time.

"It's not just toys that she stole..." he sighed, his voice quieter than before.

He lost our seriousness that lasted a few seconds. George snorted again.

Nick ignored him, taking a deep breath, ready to reveal more.

"She stole my first girlfriend."

For a moment, nobody said anything. Except for George. He died on the spot laughing. We just stood there, taking in Nick's unexpected confession.

And then it hit me.

"Wait. She likes girls!?"

As my excited exclamation filled the room, everyone looked at me. I suddenly realized how excited I sounded and regretted it immediately.

"What the fuck was that?" Clay looked at me, almost offended.

"Sorry," I muttered, "A bit too loud."

"Why'd you get so excited?" Clay pushed.

"I wasn't excited, I was just surprised..." I shook my head.

"Yeah, sure you weren't." George, who had been dying laughing, suddenly chimed in, "Sierra's about to cuck you too, bro. Be careful." And the laugh was back.

Clay looked at George, his frown deepening. "That was not funny."

"Yeah, dude, it's not funny," Nick agreed.

"No you better watch out. I saw her checking Lizzy out."

As George's words registered in my mind, I fucked up again.
