The next morning, the sun had barely risen when Travis texted Taylor, suggesting they go to school together. Since they were neighbors, it seemed natural, but Taylor couldn't shake the flutter of nerves that came with the idea.

Travyy❤️: Morning, beautiful. Want a ride to school? We can make an entrance together 😉.

Taylor stared at the message for a moment, her heart skipping a beat. It felt so new, this casual ease between them. She hesitated for a moment before replying.

Tayprincess: Okay, sounds good 😊.

After getting ready, Taylor grabbed her bag and made her way outside. Travis was already waiting in his car, leaning against it with a grin that made her stomach flip. As she approached, his eyes lingered on her, taking in the sight of her with an expression that was somewhere between admiration and desire.

"Ready to conquer the day?" he asked, opening the door for her with a flourish.

Taylor slid into the passenger seat, trying to calm her racing heart. "Yeah, I guess."

As they drove to school, the conversation flowed easily, but there was an undercurrent of tension as they discussed how they would act around each other.

"So, how are we doing this?" Travis asked, glancing over at her with a hint of mischief in his eyes.

Taylor bit her lip, trying to act casual. "I mean, we should act... normal."

Travis smirked, a knowing look in his eyes. "Normal, huh? Well, good luck with that when everyone's staring at us."

Taylor sighed, knowing he was right. The moment they stepped out of the car together, it would be impossible to avoid the attention.

When they arrived at school, Travis parked and got out, quickly coming around to open her door. Taylor appreciated the gesture but couldn't ignore the curious looks they were already getting from students milling about in the parking lot.

As they walked toward the entrance, all eyes were on them. Whispers floated through the air, growing louder as they passed by. Taylor could feel the weight of everyone's gaze, the scrutiny making her skin tingle with unease.

"Hey," Travis said softly, leaning in a little closer. "Don't worry about them. You're with me."

Taylor managed a small smile, but her nerves were still buzzing. It was surreal being the center of attention, especially when it came to being seen with Travis, the guy everyone knew.

They walked through the halls, the whispers growing louder. Travis's friends were loitering near the lockers, and as they approached, one of them, David, a lanky guy with a sharp tongue, whistled low under his breath.

"Well, well, look who decided to show up together," David drawled, his eyes flicking between Travis and Taylor. "Didn't think you had it in you, Travis."

Travis shot him a look, his jaw tightening. "Cut it out, David."

Another one of his friends, Kevin, nudged David with a grin. "Careful, man. Looks like Trav's gone soft on us. Who knew Taylor could tame the beast?"

Taylor felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment, but before she could say anything, Travis stepped in front of her, his expression darkening.

"Don't even think about it," Travis warned, his voice low and dangerous.

David raised his hands in mock surrender. "Hey, no harm meant, man. Just surprised, that's all."

Before things could escalate, a voice from behind them interrupted.
