There, in her bedroom window directly across from Travis's, stood her mother. Her mother's face was twisted in an expression of anger, her eyes locked on Taylor with a fierce intensity. She stood with her arms crossed, her posture rigid and unyielding, making it painfully clear that she had seen everything.

Panic surged through Taylor like a bolt of lightning. Her breath hitched, and her hands flew to her mouth as a horrified gasp escaped her lips.

"Oh my God... Mom..." she whispered, her voice trembling as she stared back at her mother in horror.

Travis noticed the shift in her demeanor, his brows furrowing in concern as he followed her gaze. When he saw her mother, his stomach dropped. "Shit," he muttered under his breath, immediately understanding the gravity of the situation.

Taylor scrambled off of him, her movements frantic as she grabbed her discarded clothes, her hands shaking so badly she struggled to dress. Her heart pounded in her chest, a mix of fear and shame overwhelming her. "What am I going to do?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, on the verge of tears. "She's going to kill me, Travis."

Travis, still trying to process the situation, reached out to steady her, his hands resting on her shoulders as he tried to calm her down. "Hey, hey, it's going to be okay," he said, though his own voice wavered with uncertainty. "We'll figure this out. Just... just take a deep breath."

But Taylor was too panicked to calm down. Her thoughts were a whirlwind of worry, what would her mother say? What would she do? The consequences seemed unbearable. She quickly pulled on her shirt, her fingers fumbling with the buttons, her mind racing to think of a way to explain herself, to justify what her mother had seen.

Travis, feeling the weight of the situation, quickly dressed as well, his mind working to find a solution. He couldn't let Taylor face this alone. "Maybe... maybe I should come with you," he suggested, though he wasn't sure if that would help or make things worse.

Taylor shook her head vigorously, her eyes wide with fear. "No, no, that'll just make it worse," she said, her voice shaky. "I need to face her on my own... but I don't know what to say. She's going to be so disappointed in me."

Travis reached out and gently cupped her face, forcing her to look at him. "Taylor, listen to me," he said firmly, trying to ground her in the moment. "Whatever happens, I'm here for you, okay? We'll get through this together, I promise. But you need to stay calm."

But Taylor was too consumed by panic to hear his reassurances. "I need to get home," she said in a rush, her voice barely above a whisper as she darted toward the door. Her heart pounded in her ears, the fear of what was waiting for her on the other side of that window driving her actions. She knew she couldn't avoid this confrontation, no matter how much she wanted to.

"Taylor, wait!" Travis called after her, quickly following her to the door. But before he could reach her, she was already halfway down the stairs, her mind focused solely on getting home and facing the inevitable.

By the time she reached the front door, her breath was coming in short, panicked gasps. Her hand trembled as she reached for the doorknob, the weight of the situation pressing down on her like a lead blanket.

Travis caught up to her just as she was about to step outside. "Taylor, stop," he pleaded, his hand closing around her wrist to keep her from leaving. "Please, just wait a second. We need to talk about this."

She turned to face him, her eyes wide and filled with fear. "There's nothing to talk about, Travis. She saw everything. I have to go."

His grip tightened slightly, his gaze locking onto hers. "You're not alone in this. Whatever happens, we'll deal with it together."
