The evening had settled into a calm, quiet stillness as Taylor sat beside Travis on his bed, her fingers lightly tracing his hand. They had shared so much earlier in the day, more than either of them had expected. It had brought them closer then ever.

After a while Taylor spoke breaking the silence "I should probably get going, it's getting late." She mumbled as she stood up.

Travis frowned, stepping closer to her and gently grabbing her wrist before she could walk away. "You don't have to leave, you know," he said, his voice soft but filled with an underlying plea. "You can stay. I want you to stay."

Taylor paused, looking at him with uncertainty. "I don't know, Travis... I've never stayed over before. What if it's weird?"

Travis smiled, but there was a tenderness in his eyes as he held her gaze. "It won't be weird. I promise. I just... I don't want you to leave, please."

His words made her heart flutter, but she still felt a bit nervous. "Are you sure it's okay? What if your dad or Jason gets mad that I'm here?"

Travis shook his head, stepping closer until he was right in front of her, his hand sliding down to lace his fingers through hers. "It's fine. They're not going to care. Besides," he gave her a small, teasing smirk, "you'll be with me the whole time. They don't control who I want to be with."

Taylor felt herself relax slightly at his touch, the warmth of his hand comforting her. She smiled at him softly, still hesitant but wanting to believe him. "Are you sure?"

He nodded, lifting their joined hands to press a soft kiss to the back of hers. "I'm sure. Stay with me, Tay. Please?"

The way he said her name, so gentle and sincere, made her heart melt. She could see in his eyes that he wasn't just asking for a casual sleepover, he was asking for her company, her comfort, her presence. He didn't want to be alone tonight, and truthfully, neither did she.

"Okay," she finally whispered, a small smile breaking through her hesitation. "I'll stay."

Travis's face lit up, and he leaned in to kiss her forehead before pulling her into a tight hug. "Thank you," he murmured into her hair. "You have no idea how much that means to me."

She chuckled softly, resting her head against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. "Well, now I just have to convince my mom."

Travis grinned, pulling back slightly to look at her. "I'll be here, waiting, ready to sweet talk her if I have to."

Taylor laughed, rolling her eyes as she reached for her phone. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that."

The phone rang for a few moments before her mom answered, sounding a little surprised but not worried. "Hey, sweetie! Everything okay?"

"Yeah, everything's fine, Mom," Taylor replied, glancing at Travis, who offered a comforting smile. "I was wondering if it's okay if I stay over at Travis's tonight. We're just hanging out, and... it's getting late."

There was a brief pause on the other end, and Taylor could almost hear her mom weighing the situation. Finally, she replied, "Alright, just stay safe. You know the rules. And call me if you need anything."

Taylor smiled, relieved. "Thanks, Mom. I'll be careful, promise."

After hanging up, she turned to Travis. "She's fine with it."

"YES, letsgoooo." he screamed holding his arms up in the air.

Taylor chuckled, resting her head on his chest. The warmth of his embrace calmed her, but there was still a small knot of unease in her stomach. She trusted Travis, but staying overnight at his house, with his family around, was different. It felt more serious. But Travis seemed confident, and for now, that was enough.
