((Meg's POV))

Monday morning actually didn't suck as much as Mondays usually do.

Ms.Morning had been so full of joy that she threw a party for each one of her classes. It was a small morning treat to get a donut party and watch a movie. She also let us sit wherever we wanted for the movie watching too. I sat next to Samheed and Alex, coffee in hand since Ms.Morning let us use her keurig. Before the movie was set to start, I wanted to talk to them.

"So, who do you think won the talent show? I mean, it would be really cool to have a trophy," I said.

"If you don't win, I told Al it would be rigged," Samheed said around a bite of glazed donut.

"What? No, did you guys even hear Will and Cole? I had no idea they had a band. They were actually really good," I said.

"Who the hell cares about those lame dudes anyway," Sam said. "You'll win Meg. If it isn't your solo, it will be the group dance you were in for sure."

Alex yawned next to us, and I only now realized how exhausted he looked.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"I don't feel great," he said. I could hear the stuffiness in his nose. "It started yesterday."

"Sinus infection," Samheed confirmed. "I'm sorry Al. Hey, since we're chilling on the floor, you can fall asleep on me."

Alex didn't even acknowledge. Instead he just leaned his head on Sam's shoulder. Sam let him, smiling softly down at him. He wrapped his arm around him, holding him close. Before I could even question what that was all about, Ms.Morning dimmed the lights to start the movie.

I guess I would have to ask one of them later.

After school, I had to wait for Sean to give me a ride home. Something about how he had to make up something blah blah blah. I knew whatever he had told me had been a huge lie. Carina must be staying after for something valid, and he probably just wanted to wait for her.

The others were gone already. Alex had almost slumped in exhaustion by the last class of the day, and Sam was driving him home along with Aaron. Lani had to get Henry home. I didn't really care where Sky was. She hadn't been with us since Friday night briefly, and I wasn't about to fully forgive her as easily as everyone else was.

So with nothing left to do, I decided I was going to see if the best teacher of all time was still here so I could chat for a few minutes. Ms.Morning. As I turned the corner on the third floor, I almost bumped into someone who was booking it my way. Quickly I avoided who it was.

"Whoa, sorry. I didn't--"

Copper, almost orange eyes, stared back at me. A girl in unconventional white heels, a blue skirt, and a simple white blouse. Her long golden hair draped over her shoulders. Oh great. The last person I wanted to run into.

I huffed. "Sky."

"Meghan."

"What are you doing here?" I asked, eyes narrowed.
