Hey guys! So this is a holiday special since it's December. I know it's not an update to the regular High School AU, but I worked really hard on this and I wanted to share. I hope you enjoy :). Happy Holidays!

It was a beautiful night outside the mansion as the stars shined brightly across the sky. But even though it was a beautiful night, with things starting to slowly go back to normal, a lot of the Artimeans were inside the mansion tonight.

Alex, Lani, Sky, Samheed, and Aaron all sat in the lounge, drinking orange cream milkshakes while listening to the band. It was the small things that made them feel like life was back to normal. Although normal was hard to get back after the deaths, the injuries, and the heartache so many people had to endure.

Sky frowned as she saw that all her friends were looking gloomy even with the jazz band. Lani in her new wheelchair was next to Samheed. He was holding her hand in comfort. It was still hard for her with losing all the movement in her legs...

But Alex looking miserable broke Sky's heart the most. For the past couple of weeks, she was trying to be there for him. His heart was still shattered over the deaths that happened to his people. But what caused him to have a constant frown on his face with tired eyes was his arm... She had watched him struggle with his left arm not being able to move anymore. She tried to help... But she had run out of ways herself in how to.

"So... Everyone enjoying their shakes?" Sky managed to ask as she nervously bit her bottom lip.

"Eh, they're okay," Sam admitted as he just swirled the red and white stripped straw around in his glass cup. "Not as good as they used to be..."

"They aren't as sweet," Lani said softly, managing a little smile to try and be happy.

Sky looked back at her boyfriend Alex, hoping he would chime in with something to talk about like he used to. But he wasn't looking at anyone as he had pushed aside his full cup of milkshake. He hadn't even taken one sip of it as it now was melting to sludge.

Her heart shattered into a million pieces. She thought this would help the group... After all, she planned them hanging out tonight in the hopes that their spirits would rise again.

They won the war. But the victory was just as bittersweet as their milkshakes were.

"I'm going to head out," Aaron said as he stood up. "I have to pack. Kaylee and I are leaving in a week."

"Wait Aaron-" Sky started.

"See you guys."

Aaron got out of the booth since he was on the outside of it. The group watched him go, their heart's deflating even more.

"So much for a group bonding activity," Lani frowned.

"Where even is Kaylee?" Samheed asked Sky. "I thought you invited her."

"I did," Sky sighed and shook her head in dismay. "But she said she was busy planning things. I assume for her and Aaron's journey."

Before anyone could say anything else, they all looked back at the lounge entrance again. There Aaron was stopped by Kaylee, looking confused as she looked so excited. The four of them sitting together looked confused as well, wondering how Kaylee could wear a smile that big during a time like this.

"What's she so happy about...?" Alex grumbled. It was the first words he spoke this whole time.

"I don't know," Lani frowned. "But it better be good... We need good right now."

Before Sky could get up to go check what was going on, Kaylee and Aaron actually made their way back over to them. Kaylee's smile didn't disappear as she came up to the group.
