So many of you are probably going to be so mad at me ahhhh! I'm sorry, this isn't a chapter update. I'm almost on spring break and I really hope to write more for the fanfic then. But this is a story I wrote, and I was VERY hesitant on posting this for one reason.

WARNING: This story has underage drinking in it. I do not promote the action of underage drinking! Also there's the s word and this is just overall PG-13. If you are uncomfortable please do not read this story then!

This is an Alexheed fic (I swear I do ship Lanheed and Skylex lol). I'm still on the Alexheed train. I really hope you guys don't judge me too much for this, and it took me a lot of courage to publish this. Anyways, I hope you enjoy.

The bright moon shone overhead as everything was quiet in Artime. The animals in the forest were all in a state of slumber, and even the water lapping on the beach shore seemed silent itself.

Samheed was alone. Right outside where nobody was awake. All the lights in the beautiful mansion were off. It seemed like he was the only one alive as the bright moonlight shone on him.

He couldn't sleep. That didn't seem new though. Recently he hadn't been able to. All the ideas he didn't know how to let escape him were all stuck inside his head. He had tried writing them all down, but something else deep down was bothering him more.

He played with some sand as he let it run between his fingers. It was funny. He had been on this beach so many times, but never really appreciated the little things like sand. Each grain was important. Each little spec made up the beautiful shore.

Sighing, he stood up and brushed his pants off. He had gone out barefoot. During the days the shore now was too hot to go barefoot, but during the beautiful night the soft ground was a perfect bed of cool.

Samheed slowly went back into the mansion. He tried to close the big doors quietly, but Simber was already alert as the door creaked closed.

"Burkeshhh," Simber growled a little. "What are youuu doing up? It'sss late."

"I know that," he said as he rolled his eyes. "I just couldn't sleep."

"I'm sure Alexx is up," the cheetah mentioned with a cat like yawn. "Even though I tell himmm to sleep, these days it's harddd to convince him to."

Samheed sighed as he wrapped his arms around him. Things had been hard on  Alex recently, he was sure of that much. The war was going to happen soon, and he was sure that the head mage was under a lot of stress with the battle on the horizon.

"I'll go and check up on him," he said as he started to climb the large and great staircase. "Sleep well Simber. I'm sorry for waking you up."

Simber didn't say anything but just let out a purr like sound to say it was fine, but also to probably say that he was going back to bed.

Samheed quietly climbed up the stairs and knew where he was going. He had been here so many times. Nobody else knew, but he always went to Alex's quarters over the years when he couldn't sleep. Because usually there was a chance Alex couldn't sleep either. Somehow that thought always warmed him up on the inside a little.

Going to the not so secret hallway, Samheed went through since he could see.

Then the pain hit him. It always did at random times.

Lani was mad at him. Extremely mad. He was shocked that a girl as petite at her could hold so much anger inside of her.

He didn't tell anyone... But she was so mad that she broke up with him. At the time he thought she would regret it and take him back. But it had been a week and she hadn't yet.
