((Lani's POV))

My eyes were wide as I froze up in his arms.

His lips were soft, tasting slightly like butterscotch. I didn't know what to do as my heart raced so fast. My eyelids managed to flutter closed as he kissed me.

I never wanted to pull away. I never wanted to be apart from him again.
Soon though he pulled his lips away from mine, both of us now looking each other straight in the eyes.

"Lani?"

"Yeah?" I managed to say from being breathless.

Samheed smiled down at me, and his fingers ran themselves through my black hair.
This night couldn't get anymore magical.

Before he could say anything, Meghan came up to us.

"Finally!" She squealed in joy as she shook both me and Samheed violently.
"Finally! We've been waiting for so long!"

Sam's cheeks went pink from embarrassment as we saw that Sky and Alex were watching us as well. My face even felt a little hot.

Meghan kissed both of our cheeks in excitement.
"Ah! My babies! Keep on being cute!"
She ran back over to Alex and Sky who were laughing.

My eyes slowly met Samheed's again, the world around us fading away.

"So," I laughed awkwardly.

"So.."

"That was, um. Nice," I said with a small side smile.

Samheed looked like he didn't know how to respond either as he just nodded.

I knew how to respond though. With me being witty, there was always a response floating in my head.

My response wasn't in words though. I instead reached down to hold his hand. He didn't refuse my gesture, and even interlocked our fingers together.

"Let's go dance?" He smiled as he offered the choice.

"Sure. I'd love to dance with you," I giggled softly.

Together, the both of us walked towards the dance floor.
And I couldn't have been smiling any more.

An hour later, the whole group was hanging out again. Sky and Alex had had about three slow dances together. Alex and Meg however had the fourth dance together since Sky insisted.

It was so nice to see Meg and Alex being close since they were best friends.

Sam and I, well, only slow danced zero times. I was always too nervous to go.
I was blowing all our chances.
In my mind, I made up that we were going to dance to the next one.

However, time was running out. There was only 15 minutes of the dance left.

Alex laughed as he had his arms around Sam and Meghan in a side hug.

"Ok, so is my dad driving everyone home?" He asked.

"I have a ride," I sighed as I looked at the clock. "My dad is picking me and my brother up."
