((Hey guys! It's another short story. This one includes the ship HenCrow (my otp haha). Its ok if you don't ship Henry and Crow because it's obvious that Henry and Thatcher are a thing. However, a girl can still dream! I hope you all enjoy it, it's probably going to have more than 1 part to it :3. Also thanks to @ lani.haluki on Instagram for the story title. Go follow
her people. Anyways, enjoy!))

"Wow, it seems just like yesterday when I was sent to my death by Quill. It's been years now," Alex sighed as he adjusted himself on the stool he was sitting on in Henry's office.
"The masquerade is in 5 days! Oh man, now I have to get that arranged since I'm the head mage. But Samheed also asked me to check on the production his students have been working on. Then-"

Henry turned to him and shushed him before he could continue. Alex was confused as he stared at the younger Haluki sibling while being baffled.

"It's hard to concentrate when you are moving so much," he simply said.
"You came to me to stitch you up. You need to be more careful."

Alex laughed nervously at thinking about how he got the gash in the first place.

"Yeah, everyone is clumsy at some points."

"You more then others," Henry laughed softly as he finished up.
"There you go, you're all done."

Alex was about to go with a simple thanks, but Henry took out some bottles of medicine.

"Take this if the pain starts to get too bad. Now take this one if you get too stressed from working on all of those issues you ranted to me about. I don't think we need you fainting on everyone."

Alex took the two bottles and watched Henry organize the other bottles again. He smiled warmly while Henry was turned away from him.

"Thanks Hen, I owe you one. Hey, speaking of the masquerade, are you asking someone to the dance? You know, like a secret girl that you haven't told anyone about?"

Henry paused as soon as Alex brought up the topic of having a date to the masquerade. He turned back around awkwardly so that he was facing him.

"Uh, no. Sorry, I'm not asking anyone. I'm just going to stay here where I always do."

Alex frowned as he looked into Henry's blue eyes.

"Just stay in here? Henry, no one is going to be in the hospital ward that night. Everyone will be partying it up! Doesn't that sound like fun?" He said softly.

Henry avoided eye contact with the head mage as he put the stool back where it belonged.

"Right here, healing patients and fixing people, is where I have fun," he mumbled softly.

"Well your friends would like to see you and talk to you."

"They will just have to come in here then," Henry said bitterly.

Alex leaned against the doorframe to Henry's office, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Alright, you left me with no choice. As head mage of Artime, I sign you off from your duties on the night of the masquerade to have fun. I'll inform Claire, Simber, and Florence. You shouldn't be cooped up in here. You deserve to have fun."
