Chapter 32 - "..Lovely weather we're having"

Todoroki spent the rest of the afternoon with a smug expression on his face, knowing he now had some leverage over Bakugo. (Of course he'd never use it, but it was always nice to have)

Bakugo spent the rest of his afternoon mentally beating himself up for letting it slip that he was afraid of upsetting his fuck buddy.

As for their friends, they were devising plans to figure out what was happening between them.

"Jirou you sure you don't wanna join?" Mina asked, having explained the situation to Uraraka and Tsuyu who gladly accepted the challenge.

"Nah I'm good thanks, besides you girls are four and with Iida also not participating the guys are four as well. Equal teams seems more fair to me" Kyoka shrugged, she already knew what was happening, but she swore she would never tell anyone.

So the teams were as follows: Momo, Mina, Uraraka, Tsuyu and Kirishima, Kaminari, Sero, Midoryia.

It was eventually decided that the winning team would get to order around the losing team for a whole day. The problem was, how could they know for certain who won without letting their plan slip to Todoroki or Bakugo? (Especially not to Bakugo)

After hours of brainstorming...they still hadn't figured it out. (A/N: that's on me chat I can't think of anything rn)

The next day was Saturday, and Shoto decided he'd push his luck a little farther than he's ever pushed it before.

"Say, Blondie?" He asked, when they were alone in the older's dorm studying for the English test.

"Sup Halfie?" Katsuki replied.

"I'm bored, do you wanna go out and grab something to eat?" Tilting his head, he held his breath in apprehension of the response.

"...Eh sure why not" Bakugo shrugged, standing up.

The two had gotten some boba and pocky and were now meandering around the park. The candycane was tempted to ask if he wanted to sit on the grass together but he didn't want to risk going too far with his requests.

"Let's sit down over here." The red-eyed male gestured to an empty patch.

So his worries were for naught after all.

Sitting down in silence, they ate and drank their snacks with the only sounds being the footsteps and idle chit-chat of passerby's.

"..Lovely weather we're having" Shoto commented.

"You know Icy this is the second time you've randomly commented on the meteorological state of the day." Katsuki replied, with a chuckle.

Todoroki blushed and looked away, he always felt the need to fill silence but his words weren't always carefully chosen.

Meanwhile...

"HE'S BLUSHING!!" Mina whisper-yelled.

"You think Bakugo said something romantic?" Tsuyu asked, noticing what Mina had pointed out.

"Knowing Shoto, probably wasn't even that romantic. Bakugo may have just commented on an odd mannerism of his." Yaoyorozu suggested.

"No no no it can't JUST be that!" Ashido insisted. "He's bright red! I've never seen that before."

Momo sighed. "If you say so Mina but I think you're reading too much into it."

"Uraraka-san are you alright? You've been awful quiet this whole time" Tsu questioned, looking at their brunette friend. The other two looked over as well.

"Tsk, I'm fine. Just don't understand why we're spying on them in broad daylight." Ochako replied, rolling her eyes.

"Shhhh lower your voice they're gonna hear!" Mina scolded, looking through her pink binoculars to try and get a better look at the boys' faces. Except the spot they were sitting at was empty.

"Where'd they go?" The pink-skinned girl asked incredulously, pulling the binoculars away from her eyes.

"About three feet away from you." The smooth voice of Todoroki Shoto spoke, though he sounds more peeved than normal.

They all yelped in surprised, turning to the right of the tree they were hiding behind.

There stood an annoyed Todoroki, and an enraged Bakugo.

"You extras have 5 seconds to explain what in fucks name you were doing before I blast your remind to hell." The latter growled, his hands sparking up.

"W-Well you see...RUN!" Ashido yelled, and all four girl scattered in different directions.

Shoto held Katsuki from chasing after them.

"LET ME GO!"

"No, now come on we have to finish studying." The taller boy then proceeded to drag his classmate back to the dorms by his ear.

"Did you really have to pull me by the ear?" The blond asked, rubbing the side of his head.

"Yes. It was imperative I'm afraid" Todoroki said, pushing up his silver glasses over the bridge of his nose.

"Tsk. Asshole."

"Says you."

Meanwhile...

"Pfft you losers got caught!" Kaminari sneered, while Kirishima and Sero laughed in the background.

"Shut up! It's eerie how they can move without anyone noticing..especially Todoroki...he's like a ninja." Mina whined, upset her plan had been foiled.

"Yeah well thanks to you when WE spy on them, we'll know what not to do." Denki smirked, before Jirou smacked him upside the head.

"Hey what was that for!" He pouted, the purple-haired girl huffed.

"You're all idiots. Those two are damn good at figuring out when they're being spied on." 'If their guards are up, but I won't tell them that.' She thought to herself.

"So what do you suggest we do kero?" Asui asked. Kyoka turned to her.

"Can't help you, I promise I'd stay out of it."

"Come onnnn pleaseeeee? You look like you'd have good ideas!" Mina was practically begging her at this point.

"Hm. I guess I can give you something. Todoroki breaks under pressure whereas Bakugo shuts down." She explained, crossing her arms.

"And how is that gonna help us?" Hanta spoke, not understanding the point of that observation.

"Ah well it's not fair if I tell you how to use this knowledge now is it?"

"This is impossible!" Kaminari cried.

"Only if you're stupid."
